Very luxurious. Great staff and located centrally. However, if you're on a trip, you most likely won't be at the hotel room for that long so why pay so much?

While planning for an event in town we used our Bonvoy account to search and found the San Jose Marriott was directly connected to the convention center where our event was. The hotel is a bit confusing to get into for parking/check in as the front area is tiny and has valet signs only around. While checking in it was a busy event and the lobby area had no designation for lines for the front desk so while I was 3 people back and the location next to the bar I was cut by multiple people who were already a few deep because their "adults", no fault to the hotel but something to designate a line would be nice. We didn't get our bonvoy check in gift that's standard but they did have water bottles in the room so that was nice. Everything was clean and tidy and had everything we needed and more. The lobby snack shop/ coffee shop had tons of options to help during the long cheer event over the weekend. The hotel only offers valet service which is fine less headache for me to shuffle to and from but considering the size of our vehicle they had to park it outside on the sidewalk basically and when we were walking to a restaurant I just randomly grabbed my door and found the car was left open and unlocked ! I locked it and closed the door hence the reason a star was knocked off.

Stayed here serval times the past year and I really like it. The lobby is huge. The staffs are chill. The M Club is nice and clean. The snacks aren't bad either. I mean, it's free after all. The rooms are decent. It's a convenient location with plenty of places to eat. It's not too far from SJC airport either. I'd come back again.

3.5 Stars - Our stay overall was ok, however, their valet is a mess. They have their staff doing the best they can, but you must plan ahead of time and be ready to wait for your car to be parked and/or retrieved from their lot. Also, don't forget any items because it is a walk to the car. Someone in our group unfortunately had a toilet leak in the bathroom. Since we went to a concert, it was too late in the evening to change rooms. Hopefully, she gets comped out a night's stay somewhere in the future.

Decided to have lunch at a local Marriott after SJSU Football season opener on Sunday September 3rd with our family (9 of us). Valet was convenient and was helped by Bryan. He was very kind & patient. We traveled in 2 trucks and squeezed thru valet parkway. It was a little confusing when arriving for valet but figured it out. Upon arriving, entering the hotel, the ambiance was relaxing. We found the back corner of Coastal Manor with the pool table for our family can play and chat away from the other patrons. Our family was served by Surafel. Very Professional, patient with our large group. His manager was very pleasant and helped with serve our group. The food!! Our kids loved the burger! We ordered 5 and they finished it all!! The Pair & Fig pizza was excellent. It wasn't to heavy of a meal, very light and delicious. We decided to stay the night so we booked 2 rooms, 2 Queen beds because only 7 stayed behind. Front desk was very helpful, quick and efficient. It took less than 10 minutes to check-in. The rooms were comfy for 2 queens. Bathroom was large. Market place was lovely having lots of snacks, food, and Starbucks. Overall - I would stay again at this location. Thank you staff for a great first experience at this location

Great experience with friendly staff! Parking was a little confusing but discussed with the front desk and cleared everything up. Valet parking makes everything easier.

we stayed here for my child's graduation in SJSU and it's just a few minutes walk, coming in is kinda tricky because they have a tight front area to park and check in but the staff are efficient in coaching the other cars coming in so it all worked out.Out room on 11 th floor with fantastic view of the city, room is clean and decent size.we went downstairs on M club and the Filipina lady who works there is very kind and courteous,M club have great food and drinks, this hotel is just 3 steps to the convention center,it's perfect location ,friendly stand accommodation is the reason why we 'll be back.

This is THE hotel to get for Fanime as I've stayed here multiple times before and really enjoy the fact that it's connected to the con center floor, as well as very close to the gathering area outside where all the cosplayers hang out and take their photos. Checking in and checking out is pretty easy and hassle free and I did get my deposit back relatively quickly after the event. The rooms are decently spacious and there is no year where our room hasn't gotten A+ room and customer services, especially with cleaning the trash both in the room and left outside, as well as providing new towels, toilet paper, etc. Guest services was also very patient and understanding with us, since we did have a complaint and incident with a pet that we brought with us, but instead of charging us straight up, they let us know what alternatives and options we had and we were let off with a gentle warning. Valet was helpful too, despite not many of the staff being able to drive manual. I think there was some struggle on their side as we had to take the car to the mechanic afterwards to check the shift or gear (unsure what it is myself but I know that several people tried to drive the car, stalled, and many staff had to swap out with one another to drive our car to the valet parking/bring our car back up). Regardless, calling from the room and heading out 15 minutes later, the car was usually already ready for us. Despite being pretty pricy, the little gift shop and Starbucks on the lobby floor is very convenient. Random note: there's a water bottle refill station on the second floor attached to the con center that has flavored water!

We have contacted Marriot directly and my concerns were regurgitated but nothing to actually fix my issues. In particular, the Rooms leadership from San Jose replied but without a fix. Here is the email that I sent to Marriot to try to get them to fix our experience. We were on a 3 day trip for my birthday. Last day of the trip is San Jose. We drove up to the San Jose Marriot and the valet was very busy. We couldn't get into the hotel valet. I walked up to a valet and they said that for the hotel, valet is the only option for parking for $49. But we could go to the convention center and it's $30 a night. We decided to go to Target and return so that the valet area would get better. NOPE!!! It was way worse. Traffic was backed up in 3 directions. This hotel is on a corner and it was backing up traffic from the north, south and west directions. So we went to the convention center parking lot. It is $35 not $30. Go to check in, we are at least 10 people deep. We are at Walmart customer service status at this time. Go to our room but have to hurry to go to our event. I do not like heat!! I'm trying to get ready, hair, makeup, and clothes while in a hot room. We go to our event. Well we try. The traffic is such a mess outside because of your valet mess, that we had 5 people cancel our uber ride to SAP center. We got scooters. When we return, we walk back. Does your company not care about the outside of your hotel? There were a ton of food vendors and the filth everywhere was disgusting!!! We got into our hotel. The only thing that was ok with this hotel was your maintenance gentleman. He was very professional and quick. It was about 11pm at night and he took care of the a/c. So I'm getting settled and past midnight we are startled with very loud music for at least 20 minutes. We fall asleep. The next morning we make sure we go downstairs to check out before the crowd comes down. There are 2 people at the computers and 2 people standing over them. We go to tell our person our experience, just like I have done here and all we hear is excuses. Excuses that they were booked full. I don't care if you are booked, congratulations to your company for having a full hotel. If your company knew they were booked, then be prepared. You shouldn't put it on the consumer. We walked away from her very pissed. Then the icing on the place is that when we leave the parking lot and there is an additional charge of $17. So the $30 parking went to $52. I believe that a company can easily do things correctly but when a customer is not happy and how they fix the situation is what speaks volumes about them. I'm 45 years old and we travel at least 3 times a year. I would like to have your hotel as an option when I travel. Please fix this so that we want to stay at your hotel again. Thank you

Hotel is great! Customer service is horrible. Front desk girl ( asian girl with long straight hair) needs training. I have status with marriott so I requested 11 am check in. Rudely she tells me check in is at 4. Once I mention I requested early check in. She realizes I have status and gives me my key. I asked the guy cleaning the laundry room and gym a question and he didn't even acknowledge me. He just kept cleaning. Then I saw another guest ask him a question he did the same thing. These people have no manners. If you value customer service don't stay here. You will regret it.

Visited for a night recently to attend a concert. Overall a good experience and I recommend staying here if the location is good for your plans. Note it is about a 20 min walk to the SAP Center through a lively downtown, so for me next time I might choose a hotel a little closer to the venue. - Arrival was ok, but a huge line of cars was waiting for the valet around 4:30PM on a Saturday. We diverted to the adjacent public garage and self parked without a wait. It's the same garage and there are signs to find the hotel entrance. - Room was ready, but the small lobby seemed a madhouse due to all of the coming and going. - Room smelled strongly of cigarettes, it was awful. Called the front desk twice to see about moving but no answer. Later after our show we stopped by the desk and they took care of us immediately. We were happy in the end with that situation, but the lack of available help made me a little uneasy. - Onsite service includes a cafe with Starbucks drinks (but it's not a part of the chain) and pastries from a local bakery.

I have been getting very disappointed in the Marriott line of hotels. If you take a look at my recent review of the Ritz Carlton, in Maui, you'll find that management has been lacking. Also, the rooms are not exactly what I would call the highest quality. When you're paying kind of money you pay, do you want the kind of product you want. This place is not the Ritz Carlton. It is a Bonvoy hotel, but it's not the Ritz Carlton. Yet a single bed king with no view ran me $400 when bought directly from the Bonvoy app. Honestly: it doesn't feel like $400. The rooms aren't new, the closet configuration is weird, and they use big bottles of soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower, hanging from the wall. This feels more like a Holiday Inn than a higher end hotel. I'm here on business, it's close to the courthouse, so that has value to me but otherwise, I don't think I would stay here.

The location was great and check in was easy. The view from the 25th floor was great. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. There was only a shower, and the removable shower head was broken so I was left with just the rain shower head. A bit inconvenient if you're not planning on washing your hair. I am not a fan of the heady smelling soaps and shampoos that hotels are going for these days. Patchouli is really an acquired taste. I prefer clea. Soapy smelling cleansers. But what can you do.

Total dump. Air conditioning didn't work, staff was rude as hell. Restaurant food is made of plastic, and the bartenders literally throw your drink across the bar at you. $400+ a night for the same room and service that you'd get for $80 at Motel 6
