“Menu selections are varied and excellent. The minestrone is a very good specialty. Portions are generous. Steaks are excellent and generous in portion size. Breakfast and egg dishes are always consistent. Service is cheerful. Salads are great especially with an Elio’s Greek style dressing..“

“Let me tell y’all something this restaurant would not be what it is if it wasn’t for the waitress Sirena She is so welcoming soon as you walk in she greets you she fixes anything that’s wrong. She’s polite and she made me wanna come back again. She actually is the reason why I ordered extra food. I originally came in to try the chicken and waffles and grits I ordered that with regular grits and then I tasted my friends shrimp and grits and I ordered that too and steak fries to go. I don’t tip. I tipped her because her customer service was just extraordinary. I haven’t been to you guys since 2023 because I didn’t like the food but whatever cooks you have in there now they are on point so I will be back once a week. Thank you for your service. Sirena“

“An excellent restaurant. As a South Indian, thayir sadam is a comfort dish you grow up eating, but rarely get outside the house. For a very affordable $10, I got a sizable portion of thayir sadam that took me back to my childhood days. I got thayir sadam (yogurt + rice) with paneer, pickle, cucumbers, carrots, and spiced peanuts, and it was INCREDIBLY refreshing and tasty. I spoke with the owner as well, and he is a very nice gentleman. Highly recommend this restaurant for those who love thayir sadam, and those who have yet to try this South Indian staple!“

“Cam Huong has been offering good Vietnamese food to the local community for decades. Their French sandwiches and spring rolls are yummy to say the least. I especially loved their taro drinks. However, it has been out of stock for several weeks recently. Please note: the price has gone up significantly during and after the pandemic. You can easily spend $60 to $100+ if you're not careful about what you want to eat for that meal on the same day. Also, they encourage you to pay in cash. If you pay with credit card, you'll need to pay more!! I wondered why?!
Remember: You wanna go there for their delicious food. But don't expect a friendly face or smile.“

“Called in for takeout late on a Saturday night. It was 11:30 PM. Surprisingly, the restaurant was completely empty. I thought there would be more people hanging out here! Not too familiar with Oakland, but maybe it was a location issue? Anyways, we called and had an estimate of 25 minutes, but our food was ready in 15 minutes. Going inside, paying and checking out was easy.
We specifically wanted bossam. We also got the tteokbokki.
Service was quick and friendly.
At home, when we started to eat, we wish the bossam had more cabbage than the portion of steamed napa cabbage they gave us. The sauce flavors were good though and they gave us some banchan. The tteokbokki was tasty.
We were also able to takeout some makgeolli since the H-Marts and other Asian grocers were closed at this time.
All in all it got our bossam fix taken care of.“

“One community advocate. Great cause.“
“Really yummy, good portions that justify the price, and great variety of Japanese dishes. Also a good selections of add ones for most dishes and al la carte options. Not a lot of restaurants like this anymore and hope this place sticks around in Public Market. I highly suggest the Katsu Chicken Curry Udon w/Sunny Up egg. I think it’s one of the better value dishes.“

“Very clean and open space. I ordered the grapefruit tea with lychee jelly which was delicious but also too sweet so next time I will tweak my order to have less sugar. My daughter ordered the milk tea with boba and puff cream (I think that is what it was). She loved it! We received our drinks promptly. Located near Fenton's“
