Lovely Cafe with delicious food and bakery items and other food for sale To Go. Highly recommend for breakfast and lunch. Heaters are on the patio as it’s only outdoor seating.

Their food is pretty good but it’s very weird that they already ask for a tip before you get any food or service. It feels like a ransom. Overall not bad.

Excellent food, kind attentive service. Only gripe is that a French themed restaurant should, nay, must(!) stock dijon mustard, not only French’s shitty yellow mustard 🤨

If you have time to wait, the food is worth it—the sandwich and pasta salad were both really delicious. That said, we weren’t expecting a 30-minute wait, especially since we were able to grab a table right away. It was a bit confusing seeing plenty of open tables around 1pm while still waiting that long for food.

This restaurant used to have tablecloths on both the indoor and outdoor tables, which made the dining experience feel so comfortable and elegant. Unfortunately, now there are no tablecloths at all. The atmosphere just isn't the same anymore.

Excellent food in a very charming, elevated located cafe in the heart of San Marino with great people watching. Great stop after the Huntington Gardens. Omelette was excellent.

Apart from nice design, the place offers very mediocre food and coffee. We ordered cortado that was more like a hot milk, pastries were inedible, croissants quality was very bad.

Staff were very unhelpful and bordering on rude. The menu is unforgiving for different eating styles and not transparent about what is in the food so beware of allergies or those that have specific dietary needs. We went by the menu description not told what was in the Quiche, there was ham. I had a Jewish couple and a vegetarian with me so obviously this was not acceptable.In the end the food was just ok. I used to come here years ago when they had a more of a deli style counter, where you could pick salads and it was terrific. We were sadly disappointed and will not return.

The environment is always nice but the food was just okay.
Food was pricey for the quality, the avocado toast was just average and underseasoned.
1 hot tea, half sandwich and 2 cups of potato soup, $45.
The $5 cookie I bought at the front register area was baked 2 days before.
When the original Julianne ran the place, it was top tier and she'd never sell two day old baked goods.
It's kind of sad.

Great food and great atmosphere

Chile relleno casserole is divine--I am not an egg lover and devoured this--it has herbs, chiles and tons of flavor--try it, you will like it. The chilaquiles are just okay--eggy and no ranchero sauce--dry and gringo style. Gruyere and tomato grilled cheese--a bit above okay but nothing memorable. Sundried tomato and basil tartine--pretty looking but average in flavor. Green omelet--a bit above average at a 3.5. Overall, this place meets the mark in that it's a quaint upscale casual cafe (be prepared to pay the prices) in an affluent neighborhood. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Julienne in San Marino is truly a little gem. Every time I come here, I feel welcomed and taken care of. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and genuine — you can really feel that they care. The food is always delicious and beautifully prepared, and the atmosphere is so cozy and charming that it feels like a home away from home. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or just coffee and dessert, Julienne is always a wonderful experience. Highly recommend! 🌿✨

Rude service, mediocre food. Staff needs to be trained to greet and tend to guests. If giant coffee chains can do it successfully, so can a boutique operation in prestigious San Marino. Instead, what we got was unnecessarily pretentious attitude and nonexistent service. Learn to say hello and welcome to your guests, it will go a long way. Another thing, if a family asks for a napkin while seated don’t tell them they can get up and go find one inside. Just bring the napkin, it will justify your 20% tip. Let’s talk about the food. Bad. Just poorly executed. This isn’t French. It’s America’s French, from 2004. Classic case of a cafe relying solely on its location and coasting it. Terrible.
