The food was well made but the friendliness and warmth from the staff was missing. Starting with the fair haired pretty young looking woman with the tattoo on or near her neck. I placed my order with her at the counter. I don't believe it had anything to do with my gender or ethnicity since I could hear Spanish speaking people in the kitchen and saw a black waitress. Maybe I need to chalk it up to San Marino snottiness.

Stunning fresh salads (we had the chopped Asian and Mediterranean) - super generous servings, very friendly staff. Outside seating on a pretty street/ alcove. Perfect for a sunny day!
Okay San Marino is a safe and well kept neighborhood. The cafe offered a pleasant seating area and outside seating is also available. 15 dollars for a burrito where the egg is not cooked and runny is gross. Nice presentation but it lack flavor aside from being undercooked. My son ordered the sandwich which is basically just a fresher version of Starbs bacon and gruyere sandwich. Nothing to write about AND ALSO 15 dollars. I don't mind dishing out for a scrumptiously delicious...
