Blue Bottle Coffee Reviews
Late is the best, looking forward to be drinking my late everyday here
Of the various Blue Bottle locations I’ve visited in the Bay Area, this San Mateo locations remains my favorite.
There is usually single origin coffee beans available for sale when it can be sold out elsewhere. The layout is large, with high ceilings, and divided area for seating and ordering drinks where you can see the coffee bar from the back and front, creating an open space layout that is both relaxing and welcoming. Blue Bottle Coffee features a simple cafe setting with minimal decor but remains busy with a steady flow of customers. This spot is a good place to work, though there are no outlets available, which makes it less convenient for studying. The everything pull apart croissant is a popular item, and customers enjoy coffee, pound cake, and seating. The coffee is often described as impeccable, silky, and smooth, while the hot matcha latte is praised for its nice balance and smooth finish. The pistachio pound cake is flavorful and comforting, especially when reheated. The atmosphere is cozy, though it can feel crowded during peak hours. The staff are friendly and quick with drinks, but some reviews mention that servers can seem busy or slightly impatient at times, especially given the crowd. The spacious environment and large seating area, both indoors and outdoors, create a pleasant atmosphere for relaxing. Overall, Blue Bottle Coffee is a solid spot to enjoy quality coffee and a good pastry, but it may not be the best choice for those needing to work for long periods. The location in downtown San Mateo adds to its appeal, although some customers express concerns about prices for certain items.
