“***For scones and cateringJust like to give a big shout out to Ingrid who was a dream to work with from the start to finish! She was responsive, diligent, and made the holiday craziness a lot smoother. And the scones were a big hit at our event! 5 stars all around :)“
“This is the best Thai Vegetarian food we had in a long time. Perfect spices. The Pumpkin curry was divine. Also the Pra-Ram is very delicious. .I wish we would live closer, I would eat here once a week. I want to return and try other dishes.“
“Ist time here and impressed. Wanted coffee in a real cup and almond croissant and stayed for the ambiance! Italian music playing in the background and a window seat to view the creek. Talk about relaxing ☺️ A lot of locals here so I know they've found a great spot!!!They offer breakfast and lunch, will have to try these another time. Can imagine this spot with the umbrellas on a summer morning. Give it a try ❤️“
“A nice breakfast/brunch place! Went on a sunday and the waiters were kind and the food was good! I'm gluten free and they were knowledgeable about my allergy which was nice and offered me corn tortillas instead of bread with my breakfast. A solid, yummy experience overall!“
“I'm surprised by this Pink Pink. My experience in the Santa Clara location was so bad, I swore to never get it again. They sell soft serve/froyo here?! It's really yummy - totally would get again. I asked for a sample and they gave me a small cup. Peach oolong milk tea was good. Boba was chewy. Drink had a lot of creamer though...would tone it down. Overall, I would not be opposed to coming here again and trying their other drinks!“
“I will definitely be back. It's a cozy cafe with soft chairs inside. I got the Iraqi Tea and it was delicious!! Plus it's served on this gorgeous tea set My only note was that the bread I ordered was cold and hard. It would have been much nicer warmed up. But t everything else was lovely.“
“I recently visited this coffee spot and was immediately struck by its fantastic atmosphere. The place buzzes with a friendly vibe that makes you feel welcome right away. Although I didn't personally try any of the beverages, my companions seemed thoroughly impressed with their choices. The staff deserves a special mention for their warmth and professionalism. A must-visit for coffee enthusiasts and anyone looking for a cozy spot to relax or chat. Will be back to try their coffee myself!“
“Fantastic latte prepared and served up by the owner. Loved the laid back vibe of the place. Life slowed down when I went in. I was not rushed to order, the owner was not rushed in preparing my coffee, and I took time to indulge in every amazing sip amongst other laid back patrons. Also, great downtown location. I was visiting, but I wish I lived in San Mateo so I could frequent this place regularly. If you find yourself there don't miss it. If you are commuting through, jump off the train and walk over. Definitely worth it!“
“Small Cute local spot that offers delightful freshly made donuts and breakfast fare. Limited seating both indoor and outdoor covered patio. Has own private lot parking. Takes credit cards. Come in, line up, give your order first, and then grab a number and find seating. Cute and yummy eats. Friendly staff. Popular for take out donut orders! Definitely glad it was recommended to us as first timers. Definite recommend, as well!“
“I haven't been here in a while & came back because I was in the neighborhood. The diner has been remodeled & refreshed, with updated menus, and still low priced. Had excellent table service for breakfast & excellent food. Little things like gourmet coffee & fluffy eggs make a difference... Will be back soon!“
“I always enjoy popping into this bakery for their empanadas or other baked goods. Yesterday, they had a ham, egg, and spinach pastry which was delicious. Their smoothies and juices are also great, and interacting with the staff always puts a smile on my face.“
“Great Peet's. Both inside and outside seating.Friendly, helpful service. In Downtown San Mateo - kitty corner with B Street Books - great little book shop.Pick up a book at B Street and then relax with a coffee or tea at Peet's!Double door entrance - I don't know if there is a button available to push if you use mobility aid and need help with door.“
“I found Cafe 2k the other day and I'm glad I did. Located at 2000 Alameda de las Pulgas in San Mateo in an office complex. They have plenty of great choices for breakfast and lunch. There was a line at lunch but it moved pretty fast. I recommend Cafe 2k.“
“Cute and homey breakfast place. Variety of dishes for traditional american breakfast. Super fast service and kind staff! Been going here since I was young.Vegetarian options: Plenty of pancake and waffle varieties that are vegetarian + the french toast is amazing.“
“This is a great place for a pick me up or whatever. Great Mochas, and I am sure others. The Bagels are large ones also. The people are very friendly and nice. They know me by name, and my order usually. Very convenient. Thank you. The Bagel Box, Nice to have that business here. Hope they do well also.“
“I come here often and thought I should write a review - I always order a double espresso. That's it. It should come out strong, hot, and not overdrawn. The servers here know how to make it right. Once in a while it is NOT right, and I tell them and they repeat it and make it right. Very happy with their quality of coffee and their service. The only drawback is that my kids used to love their "pink cookie" - this huge cookie with pink icing. Man, those were gooooood! The no longer carry them. That's ok, my kids get ice cream at the food court now. The espresso? Still great.“
“My family and I came here on recommendation from another friend that loves Boba. Parking sucks! My family and I were driving in three separate cars, since we just came from dim sum in Millbrae, and trying to find a spot with all of us in the same area was ridiculous on a Sunday afternoon afternoon! Nevertheless, the GPS did not tell us that half of the street on "B St. was closed for the public to walk and kind of like the Covid times, where everything is set up for businesses to eat outdoors. I really like that idea of eating outdoors, but I wish the GPS had updated their system telling us there was no parking. Lol. Once inside the café, everything was so cute and organized. I really liked it! It was a long rectangular restaurant that went all the way back and they even had an upstairs area with a loft that overlooked the register area that we were sitting in below. Since we had a rather large party, we sat outside, and there were at least four tables with chairs all the way around for everybody to sit in. The restaurant next-door seems to be under a change of ownership, so my nephews were able to ply freeze dance in a designated area without bothering anybody. Lol the Boba itself tasted delicious. I got the T8-I think it was with passionfruit and Boba and it was delicious! I always do my Boba without sugar and light ice because I really want to taste the green tea and I figure Boba is already sweet anyways. There was a little bit of a lemon/lime citrus flavor in the Boba itself, which I also loved!! My boyfriend got an easy green tea with just Boba in it and it had this cool drink carrier with a dragon around the top! It was so pretty my nephews always wish they had one too! Lol as their orders came up, each one of them had a cool dragon drink carrier, and they were so proud of their Taiwanese, Chinese, Filipino heritage! I will definitely be back here again to try more of their drinks!! Hee“
“The barista Yvonne was beyond kind this evening. I came in just after they closed and didn't realize it. She confirmed if I was ordering a hot chocolate - I had my 3 year old with me. Yvonne offered to make the hot chocolate which I was very appreciative of. Then she went a step further and didn't charge us since they had shut the registers down. I had come in about 20 minutes prior to this and unfortunately had to leave and come back since my daughter needed to use the restroom. My daughter was very happy of course. I am so grateful for Yvonne's kindness and for her making my kiddos night. Thank you!“
“A good coffee shop with good coffee and nice atmosphere to take a break and chit chat.I would give the food 5 star if the barista didn’t mix up my order. I asked for iced caffe latte. The one who took my order nodded but what I received was hot latte. It was not crowded yet I waited 10 minutes to get my coffee. This made me give up asking for my coffee to be remade. Sorry, I didn’t want to stand there waiting forever.Parking: Only free after 6pm and on SundayWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entrance and roadside“
“Organic milk, organic sugar, organic fruits and premium ingredients, are some of the reasons I come here for myself and my kids! This Yifang location in San Mateo is definitely my all time favorite for any milk tea, boba, fruit teas, and sweet drinks across the Bay Area. I'm super happy that my children are drinking something with real ingredients rather than powdered ingredients with high fructose corn syrup. Their favorite drinks include Strawberry Milk, Strawberry Sago, and Brown Sugar Pearl Latte (there's no caffeine in these), and my favorites are the Yifang Fruit Tea, Grass Jelly Tea, Sugar Can Mountain Tea, and Brown Sugar Pearl Matcha Latte. The other item options are top-notch as well. Drinks tend to be on the sweeter side so I would always order 30% sweetness. Highly, highly recommend! Staff here are sweet and so helpful!“
“As someone who doesn't typically indulge in Starbucks daily, my recent experience at the Starbucks at 54 E. 4th Avenue was exceptional. I was in a coffee dilemma when my trusty home coffee maker broke down and required a month-long wait for a replacement part. To say I was desperate for my caffeine fix is an understatement.During this trying time, I ordered Starbucks from several different locations, but it was the 4th Avenue Starbucks that truly won me over.My first visit to this particular Starbucks was memorable. A kind woman who turned out to be an employee on her break generously allowed me to go ahead of her in line. We struck up a pleasant conversation, setting the stage for what would become my go-to Starbucks location. What truly set 54 E. 4th Avenue apart was its incredible early-morning staff. Every visit was met with warm and welcoming smiles, and the service was consistently friendly and efficient. Despite my frequent visits, I never felt like an inconvenience. The staff always made it a point to ask for my name and promptly prepared my beverage, creating a personal and inviting atmosphere. Now, here comes the bittersweet part of my review. Our home coffee maker has been repaired, so I'll head to Starbucks less often. However, when that undeniable Starbucks craving hits, there's no doubt that I'll be making my way back to 4th Avenue. It's where exceptional service and a friendly atmosphere make even occasional Starbucks drinkers like me feel at home.Thank you, 54 E. 4th Avenue Starbucks, for being my coffee savior during a challenging month. You've earned a loyal customer, and I look forward to returning whenever I need a coffee pick-me-up.“
“I love this cafe it's open late and the dessert is just amazing!!! The Super Mango is my absolute favorite. Their crepes are amazing and the Tai-chi almond and sesame paste is sooo yummy and different just what you need on a cold day! The owner is so nice and welcoming. I forgot my bag and he came out to the parking looking for me! Awesome place and a must try!“
“Super cute cafe with amazing drinks and food with hints of Asian influence. I ordered the black sesame latte and the ricotta yuzu toast. The toast was especially impressive in the way in brought together a variety of flavors. Everything about the interior was modern. cozy and picturesque and I had really enjoyed staying here and working on sketches.I do want to note that I arrived on a Friday around 2pm and the place was pretty packed and their pastries had already sold out. I would come back earlier next time for the croissants :)“
