“***For scones and cateringJust like to give a big shout out to Ingrid who was a dream to work with from the start to finish! She was responsive, diligent, and made the holiday craziness a lot smoother. And the scones were a big hit at our event! 5 stars all around :)“
“Antoine's Cookie Shop is hands down one of the best cookie destinations in the Bay Area! From the moment you arrive, you'll likely encounter a line - but trust me, it's absolutely worth the wait. I've tried numerous flavors here, and each one has left me thoroughly impressed. However, there's something truly special about their original chocolate chip. It's incredibly buttery, bursting with flavor, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. One bite and you'll understand why people keep coming back for more. Now, let's talk about the price. Yes, cookies here can add up, but let me tell you, the taste is simply unbeatable. You're not just paying for a cookie; you're investing in a culinary experience that will leave your taste buds dancing with delight. The workers here are quick, efficient, and always ready with a warm smile, ensuring that your visit is as pleasant as can be. Despite its smaller size, the shop is cozy and inviting, with the added bonus of a microwave to warm up those delectable treats - because who can resist a warm, gooey cookie? In conclusion, if you're a cookie enthusiast seeking an unforgettable indulgence, look no further than Antoine's Cookie Shop. With exceptional flavors, efficient service, and a cozy atmosphere, it's a true gem in the heart of the Bay Area.“
“Brought the family here after a day in SF. It was the perfect meal after a long day. The crust was thin and crisp and all of the toppings were fresh. We ordered one family pizza and it was more than enough to feed all of us. The staff that helped us were so kind and welcoming. Definitely a place you can order out and eat in at. Definitely will swing by again when I'm traveling through the area again!“
“Fantastic latte prepared and served up by the owner. Loved the laid back vibe of the place. Life slowed down when I went in. I was not rushed to order, the owner was not rushed in preparing my coffee, and I took time to indulge in every amazing sip amongst other laid back patrons. Also, great downtown location. I was visiting, but I wish I lived in San Mateo so I could frequent this place regularly. If you find yourself there don't miss it. If you are commuting through, jump off the train and walk over. Definitely worth it!“
“If you are gluten free or know someone who is, you have found your nirvana. Glorious flavors, beautiful creations and pure joy in a pink box. I've had these gf cupcakes many times, and they never disappoint. Friendly and prompt delivery available. Superb in every way.“
“Phenomenal, simply put. We tried the oolong, thai, and frozen butter beer. We all loved it. Service is great, they have great selection. They have dairy free options.Vegetarian options: Dairy free optionsParking: Some parking in the front and paid street parking.“
“This place to always seem to be so busy, wether it may be a weekend or not, there are tons of guests waiting around dinner time whenever I go. This has been an original hot pot place since childhood and is my favorite hot pot location in the bay area, to the wonderful service, unique fresh products, and tasty soup bases. The quality is great, and the bar is one of my favorite with unlimited vanilla soft serve (may be icy), kimchi, oranges, sauces, and etc! Don't forget to order a refreshing drink along with your hotpot I recommend the lemon and plum drinks!“
“I recently visited this coffee spot and was immediately struck by its fantastic atmosphere. The place buzzes with a friendly vibe that makes you feel welcome right away. Although I didn't personally try any of the beverages, my companions seemed thoroughly impressed with their choices. The staff deserves a special mention for their warmth and professionalism. A must-visit for coffee enthusiasts and anyone looking for a cozy spot to relax or chat. Will be back to try their coffee myself!“
“Best takeaway option for vegan gluten free (celiac friendly) food that I've found. Have gone back several times and the food is consistently delicious. If you like hot sauce and strong flavors, opt for some of their sauces to dress the bowls up a bit. Plain and simple, it's a great healthy option!“
“My first time here and I always wanted to try it. I finally had the opportunity and it was great! It’s located in a tiny lot, surrounded by 7-11 and zen noodle (which is great too, if you want to try them). There was plenty of parking when we went. The restaurant was clean, they had a lot of seating and I thought it was pretty spacious inside for their size. The restaurant has bar stools, a few seats outside, and tables inside. There is a large menu above and 2 tablets to place your order. The employees were busy making food. We took a while to order because there were so many good options. We finally ordered two flavors of onigilly, to try: one miso nasu which is fried eggplant with miso sesame and green onion, and hijiki which is braised seaweed, carrot, tofu and edamame. I got a salad bowl with mixed greens, seaweed, red cabbage, shredded carrot, edamame, and onion. It includes three proteins: I chose unagi, krab salad and spicy miso beef. My sister ordered a poke bowl: ahi tuna, mixed greens, seaweed, krab salad, cucumber, corn, shredded carrot and red cabbage. We both chose the sesame dressing, however, we didn’t use it. There was so much flavor in our bowls already that it really didn’t need it. Everything was delicious and so flavorful. Definitely worth it and I can’t wait to come back and try other items.Vegetarian options: Poke, rice, tofu and salad bowls, eggplant, and so much more.Parking: Tiny lot shared with other businesses.Kid-friendliness: Brought my 2.5yo niece just for take out but it is family friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs, or steps, so you can easily access the restaurant. There is also accessible parking.“
“Great Peet's. Both inside and outside seating.Friendly, helpful service. In Downtown San Mateo - kitty corner with B Street Books - great little book shop.Pick up a book at B Street and then relax with a coffee or tea at Peet's!Double door entrance - I don't know if there is a button available to push if you use mobility aid and need help with door.“
“Name of the restaurant might have changed to "Pupuseria El Salvador" as the old sign, which you can see in old photos, has been replaced. I didn't know what to order and I didn't see a menu so I went with typical Salvadoran food which is what everyone else was eating. I asked her to recommend a soup and a pupusa and she gave me what might be sopa de res and cheese and pork pupusa. Soup had a nice flavor to it, a bit oily, and pretty good beef (not overcooked! Yay!) The pupusa is excellent. Slightly burnt on the bottom to give it crunch, soft on top, and nice flavor. The pickled cabbage was good too. There was a large group ahead of me (does everyone eat at 3:30pm?) so the food took a while. She apologized for the wait and was nice about me not knowing what to order and my inability to speak Spanish.“
“What a wonderful surprise! I needed gluten free bakery goods, and Lolita Artisanal bakery came through with many choices. The Argentinian Alfjores were a huge hit, as was the amazing gluten free coconut macaroons. Definitely check this cafe out!“
