Ramen is great. I like rice bowl better. Overall, one of the best ramen places in the Bay Area.

We had spicy tuna rice cake and both types of Ramen. Shoyu Ramen was better than Tonkotsu, though a bit more oily than we enjoy. Tonkotsu was very bland - it required more salt and spiciness. Crispy rice with Spicy Tuna was great. They do have 16% service charge.

Outstanding addition to the ramen scene in downtown San Mateo. Tasty broth, great texture noodles, and perfectly cooked pork. Efficient and friendly service. Several nearby parking lots within a 5-minute walk.

As a fan of Japan's Ichiran, this is not even close. You might like this though. The egg wasn't runny. The yellow was a circular rock.Disappointed by the lack of silverware. Got everything plastic from sauces to forks. Even the water was in plastic cups.

We ordered the tonkotsu ramen and crispy chicken. The broth was not as good as the one from Taishoken. The crispy chicken was blandest version of Japanese fried chicken I’ve ever had. The service is completely nonexistent. They only brought the food to the table and did not deserve the automatically added 16% service charge.

Really good, Ramen, in fact, ordered some to take home. The chairs are hard stools that are not comfortable. No hot Saki, only cold. But this ramen is worth it. Pork buns, wow, you have to try them ?

Incredible ramen. Some of the best tonkotsu I've found in the bay. Pork buns were really nice too. Service was fast, but had a few issues: waited a few minutes to be seated while host staff was running tables (kitchen told me to find a table, host staff told me off until kitchen staff spoke up), and incorrect items on the bill, involved a full conversation as I was trying to pay and leave. Tip is automatically added to the bill. Default water came with watermelon in it, unexpected. Plain water available by request.

Very good ramen. I came here with my mom after we called ahead the night of to get a reservation, thinking it'd be busy--they told us there were empty tables on a rainy night! First off, head's up, the chairs don't have backs so we didn't take off our jackets. Chairs aside, the ramen was delicious. We both ordered the Tonkotsu ramen with thick noodles. The menu was smaller than we thought it would be--there weren't many ramen options? But quite a few rice bowls and sides, but I digress. The broth was thick, delicious, and creamy, but not rich! It didn't upset my stomach which many ramen broths do. We also enjoyed the fried chicken--it was more flavorful than the kara-age from other ramen places we've been to in San Mateo! Lastly, loved the watermelon-flavored water. Service was good and attentive and friendly. The space fits a lot of people but the tables are small. Will be back.

Tried it last night. Was really good. We had tonkatsu ramen, salmon poke rice and pork rice bowl plus fried chicken. All good. I liked the salmon poke a lot. Ramen broth is salty so hay to add some hot water but tasty. Overall cost $72 for one adult and two kids. Cannot give it 5 stars as it's still just so expensive for ramen.

We tried their ramen. It was tasty because of lots of msg. That is cheating. I wish the taste came from real food. The service was fast. Although there was small line it moved quickly. I wish they didn’t wipe tables with Clorox. It’s unappealing to sit at the table and smell bleach.
