They did not let me sit inside despite me buying from them - they also don’t have food aside from pastries so the information here is outdated

So sad that they don't sell/ make Anna's Danish Cookies anymore.

Dear Yelpers: this place is unfortunately closed forever. Didn't get to try any of the amazing things posted :(

Another neighborhood favorite! Love their fresh baked sourdough loafs and cold brew coffee to go!! Ate here once prior to covid and had avocado toast with eggs and shakshuka and was amazed! Will definitely keep coming back and trying new things. Thank you!

Such a cool spot! KitchenTown is a food startup incubator, and through their Cafe (now Curbside), we all get access to that yummy, trendy food. Super seamless experience. Just order online, and they'll drop it into your car on weekends. The food is really high-quality. It comes frozen and reheats in 15min, so I keep my freezer stocked to brighten up a random weekday. Love the chicken chili verde, all the pastas, the Korean short rib, and fresh breads. There's also a coffee counter, so I grab an oat milk latte while I pick up my food for the week.

I had breakfast here pre COVID and the place is small and really busy. Not a lot of seating inside, so go have to a bit until a table clears. Ordered the breakfast plate, eggs, back and potatoes. As well as pancakes to share. Breakfast plate as ok, it lacked seasoning not very impressive. The pancakes were a bit better, but nothing I could have gone without.

There aren’t many upsides to a global pandemic. But for our family, KitchenTown curbside has been a wonderful bright spot in these challenging circumstances. The food quality is superb, the menu has great range, the pick up process is seamless, and the food has been perfectly chosen and prepped to be DELICIOUS on reheating. Every week, we are full of gratitude for all the hard work, expertise and care which goes into the meals we pick up and enjoy very much indeed!

Fantastic experience - easy pickup, easy preparation, and we loved our dinner (ratatouille and tortilla soup). Will definitely do this again!

Really great tasting food which also happens to be healthy!Me and my friend ordered numerous dishes together to share and each of them was delicious. I definitely went back again and had good experience with their other dishes. Appreciate that the food here is locally sourced.

Hi,I am giving 1 star due to the fact that it took nearly 45 minutes to one hour to receive our order. I had initially asked the male server at the curbside window if we were allowed to dine outside, and he pointed to the direction of available seating in front of the restaurant as well as the alley way to the right of the restaurant. He also mentioned that they will be serving the food and drinks to us. We ordered first, then proceeded to sit and wait for the server. My boyfriend and I ordered had only ordered 2 cold brews, 1 pastry and 1 bagel sandwich. The drinks and pastry came out first, but this itself took more than 20 minutes to receive. The area we were sitting in had too much sun, so we decided to move to the seating in the alley. We waited for almost 40 minutes, and noticed the sandwich hadn’t arrived yet so I walk up to the window and asked the cashier for my order update. She had the sandwich in a bag, and handed it to me and had the nerve to say “We thought you both had already left” YIKES. I asked her how long the sandwich was sitting for and she couldn’t tell me. I saw 2-3 employees standing around behind her. First off, we were told the server would serve us for dining outside. Second, Apple Pay should have my phone number. Could they have called me? Could someone have walked outside and called out our names? Hey Kitchen town, if you want to stay open please be more proactive. It was our first time visiting and I was looking forward to it, until now as I am very disappointed with your customer service. Very poor customer service. Not coming back.

Kitchentown - curbside takeout. We have started to venture out and order curbside take-out food. We heard about local bakers and chefs who were renting space at Kitchentown, a commercial kitchen at 1007 Howard (about 2.3-2.5 miles from downtown San Mateo). The idea is that each week is a new menu from which to order online and set up a time to pick up the food. Three times we have ordered for Saturday pick-up. We have enjoyed: Ratatouille, Braised Duck with Stone Fruit, Chicken Pot Pie, and Duck Confit. All were delicious. We recommend signing up to their eNewsletter to get the new weekly menu. Enjoy!

Kitchentown has down an amazing job of pivoting to deal with Covid 19. Their cafe is closed (obviously) but you can order & pay online & drive thru in front for touchless service! Right now they are offering pickups on Tuesday and Saturday for everything from pastries, bread, soup and entrees. The baked goods and cooked goods are amazing and generous. Tonight we had an amazing cassoulet with duck confit - 2 generous servings for $20. We've also had some amazing bread (the baguette in particular is awesome) and pastries and have more in the freezer waiting for us. Thanks Kitchentown for keeping our spirits up in these challenging times!!

They now offer curbside pick up that you order online. We purchased a few pre-cooked meals (having one tonight), some wonderful breads, Loganberry jam (outstanding) & some awesome crackers. We will definitely be ordering again for pick up on Saturday. Order early in the week as a lot gets sold out by mid-week.

Awesome spot! Excellent coffee for real coffee lovers and even some respectable tea selections for tea fans. The food is sooo fresh and delicious!
