My group of 7 got to have a late lunch/early dinner from 3:30-5 since they don’t close after lunch - yay! We had two hot pots at this Taiwanese hot pot place. Great to have one Taiwanese in our group and also my Singaporean husband who had way more hot pot places to compare it to like DinTai Fung. They were impressed and said it more affordable than that famous chain from Taiwan. Most enjoyed/loved the spicy bone marrow broth but we also had the regular bone marrow broth and tomato and enjoyed them all - an overall good quality experience in the unlimited items in all you you can eat at the snack and sauce bar, service (with a fun waiter and robot) and atmosphere.

Classic Chinese hot pot restaurant, located in the heart of downtown San Mateo. Wide selection of thinly sliced meats, fresh veggies, seafood, noodles, and soup bases to choose from. The AYCE is a very good deal for large parties, especially if you have hungry teenagers to feed. Friendly and efficient staff. Plenty of street parking and several nearby parking lots.

Meat quality's pretty good, gotta give them that. Service was also quick, didn't have to wait long. The hot pot soup was tasty too. Definitely coming back if they keep up the good work. Hope the quality stays consistent!

Most people when they eat hot pot they use or make a sauce for dipping. This hot pot style recommends that you don't use a dipping sauce but you can make one at the sauce bar for $2.99 extra per person. Which includes sauce bar, appetizers, and a few type of fruits.

The best place for all carnivores and omnivores

I used to go to happy lamb 2 to 3 times a week. To the point where the servers recognized me. Ever since they got rid of the lunch special and moved to all you can eat only, I haven’t been in over three months. I wish they would bring back a smaller option for people who don’t want to stuff themselves full, especially at lunch

We’ve been coming here for almost three years, and we recently heard that they now offer an all-you-can-eat option, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it was a completely different experience this time. The service was extremely slow, and it just didn’t feel the same anymore. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our meats to arrive at the table—and it was only a Tuesday, not even a weekend. They didn’t even seem busy.

Sorry to say this, but they should consider renaming the menu to “If You Can Eat” instead of “All You Can Eat.”

Hot pot is pretty good, this place specializes in lamb but has beef, pork, chicken and seafood options (limited), high quality ingredients and the broth is delicious. Lots of Chinese/cantonese people who eat here. Icecream tastes very cheap, but overall, a great hot pot place

Lots of random screeching noise and DO NOT GET THE SOUP REFILL the soup refill they give has a powder that doesn’t make you hungry really quickly, the liquids they give all have that powder

Good variety of meats and vegetables. A must try is their new soup base with sour and spicy cabbage. ? ... also remember to double-check your receipt before paying for your bill to make sure all your food has arrived and you're not overcharged for things you didn't order.
