Best pan Dulce in Santa Barbara customer service Very Friendly 😀 Visiting from LA
It's interesting that this place is listed as only a bakery when it is also a restaurant, although it does have a very small seating area. The food is good, and the second time I went there the employee was super nice. The first time I ordered something with mole, and the second I ordered a enchilada and hard taco combo. Both were good, although I think the mole was a bit spicy. I will totally go there again, although I always order takeout from this place.
The food was good overall! I stopped in for the first time today and ordered the chicken burrito. It tasted great at first, but I’ll probably try a different spot for a burrito next time. The tortilla seemed slightly undercooked — it was fine when it was fresh, but after I refrigerated the leftovers and came back to it a few hours later, it had a very doughy texture. I know they make their tortillas in-house, which I appreciate, but it may have just needed a little more time...read full review

La Tapatia Bakery offers delicious homemade Mexican cuisine, including an amazing menudo with a thick broth, flavorful quesadillas with fresh and soft homemade tortillas, and a variety of pan dulce (sweet bread) and great Mexican bread. The restaurant provides good customer service from cool staff, but the restroom location near the kitchen can be inconvenient. They also serve great tamales, including annual Christmas eve pork tamales. Overall, it is a recommended authentic Mexican food destination, although the small seating area can get hot and it's mostly used for to-go orders.
