Based on six reviews, Amazing Katsu (Santa Clara) is a very nice katsu store in the South Bay, especially for to-go. It is one of the best-value katsu spots and a great katsu spot for takeout. The restaurant is actually a ghost kitchen operating out of an event center with no dining area, but parking is easy and orders are packaged well.
Everything was fresh, portions were generous, and most dishes were under $20. The Signature Combo was a great deal with thick-cut pork katsu, shrimp tempura, rice, and salad. The pork was crispy, juicy, and easily the highlight. The Cheese Katsu had a great cheese pull. The pork tenderloin katsu was the best of the three tried. The panko breading was really light and crunchy, and the pork was all very tender. The sauces were awesome, and the hot mustard really helps cut the richness. The combination also comes with a huge serving of shredded cabbage. Though a bit expensive overall when including tax and tip, it is definitely some of the best katsu in the bay.
