“I mean, you really can't beat a giant slice of pizza for $1.99 can you? I dare you to try. My favorite is their cheese pizza cause it's so dang loaded with cheesy goodness. But you can't go wrong with that oily pepperoni either! The chicken bake is delicious! And I love the Mocha Freeze. Great hotdogs too, big and meaty. The only thing that's disappointing with the hotdog option is they no longer have the chopped onions, which makes me sad. Great sodas for a few quarters. And the soft serve now has strawberry flavor which is off the chain creamy and delectable. Most recently I tried their new roast beef sandwich, it was quite expensive at $10 and really bready with not enough of anything on the inside. Kind of surprising! I won't be getting that again. However there are enough great choices here, I will continue to try and time my shopping sprees so I can have concession food lunch. Still the best deal anywhere. Only bad thing is there is not much seating and it's always full.“

Sandi's Cobbler Cups Food Court • $$
2533 Gallup Dr, Santa Clara

“We attended the 2023 Juneteenth celebration hosted by the African American Community Services Agency in Santa Clara County. The festival was well attended and had plenty of food vendors offering their authentic signature dishes.I can't remember the name of the person I was conversing with at the back of the booth for Sandi's CobblerCups but he did share what they're famous for -- Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Peach Cobbler. Of course, my curious self couldn't pass up an opportunity to try some Cajun food perfected from a family who has probably passed down the recipe from generation to generation. We ended ordering the combo which was half Gumbo and half Jambalaya. Surprisingly -- I don't think I have ever tried neither so the appreciation for the level of spices used, textures, and flavors were definitely heightened. My date and I shared the plate and when I got too full -- he finished the rest of it which is an indicator that he approved and thoroughly also enjoyed the dish. There was no skimping on the sausage vs. rice ratio either so it is something to pick up for a very filling and comforting meal.I hope to support these guys at future events, festivals, and celebrations. It looks like the primarily operate in a pop up format at larger event gatherings. I'm sure I'll run into them again somewhere in the Bay Area.Support local y'all!“

San Jose's Downtown Food Hall Food Court • $
82 E Santa Clara St, San Jose

“Pros: Food was delicious and was a surprisingly hearty portion for the price ($26.05 after tax + tip). I ordered a bento box from Azuma with chicken katsu, pork gyoza and a California roll. Food came with a side salad, miso soup, and rice as well.Cons: The food did however take a long time to come out and the kiosk system is confusing as only 2 of them have all the options and the other 3 each only have one food location each. When I order food again, I’ll probably see if I can order it before walking over instead.Other notes: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options from many of the cloud kitchens which was nice to see for others.Although I took my meal to go, there was plenty of open seating despite how busy it was at noon.“

“Love this place. Although it is in San Jose downtown which is a rough area but San Pedro Square stands out. They have multiple food options, various cuisines from different countries, coffee shop, bars, a small shop etc. Everything is self service.Tons of seating options both indoor and outdoor. Also they have quite a few security guards near outdoor seating area for your peace of mind.I always love the vibe of this place. Weekends are buzzing here with occasional live music and bands. There’s a parking garage right next to it.Great to come here either with friends or with family. It caters to everyone.“

“OMG! San Jose has this San Pedro Square downtown 5 minutes from the Airport and transit buses and light rail access. It was like a FOOD HEAVEN so many different types of food. Mexican, Asian, Ice Cream, Pizza and Burgers and Sandwiches and Hot Dogs and Peruvian and Indian food and Coffee bars and Alcohol Beer & Wine bars. The people there were from all nationalities. Like one big combination pizza. The outdoor seats and indoor were perfect for the visit. You got to try and check out San Pedro Square it has to be one of San Jose's BEST FUN places to visit. I stopped for a sandwich at this place called On a Roll. So many different types of sandwiches. I ordered the Tri Tip and it was splendid. With some Coconut Milk Tea and Boba beans on the bottom. Took me to NOM NOM city. The male cook and cashier was very nice and friendly and spoke good English. He looked like the owner/manager. I will be back to try the rest of the menu.Parking: If you have a handicapped placard you can park on the street meters for free. Only problem is most of those are usually FULL. Like any city big or small. Street parking is not fun. So then comes the garage parking. Plenty of garages available.Wheelchair accessibility: All buildings are one story. No stairs or 2nd floors or elevators.“
