Food Courts near Berkeley, CA

“Punjabi Dhaba is my go-to indian food spot, it's truly so yummy. They have a great selection of indian dishes, and they are all executed very well, with great spice.
My favorite is the chicken biryani, but the chicken tikka and chicken vindalo are both great as well. MY ONLY WARNING is that the chicken tikka is very HEAVY. I think they must use a lot of butter or heavy cream or cheese or something, because eating the chicken tikka makes me feel like I have rocks in my stomach afterwards, so just keep that in mind. If you get their chicken tikka, I recommend getting a second dish (like the biryani) and splitting both with a friend, or splitting it across 2 meals.
Anyways their biryani is spiced really well, with great depth of flavor, and is never salty or unbalanced. It's really delicious always. Their chicken tikka is also super yummy (just remember it's very heavy), and I love to get it with my friends because the flavor is super creamy and rich. The vindalo is delicious and I love that they do make it actually spicy. Not so spicy that its overpowering, but it is properly spicy, while still letting the great spices shine.
Another thing is that their chicken dishes tend to have pretty dry chicken, but that's never an issue for me because I always get a side of raita (yogurt sauce) which goes so amazingly with the biryani, and I also love to get their mint chutney, because it's just amazing. But I think I just like mint.
The workers are also very nice, I normally see the same two men working the cash register, and they are both very polite and helpful. I never feel rushed or unwanted. I feel like they are very patient, and I appreciate that.
The inside of the restaurant is very small, with only 1 bar and 4 stools to sit on, but there is plenty of seating in the courtyard. I also like the decorations inside the restaurant, it feels cozy to me.
Overall: Please come here at least once. The food is delicious, not overpriced considering the portions, and they don't skimp on the protein in any of the dishes. A single dish from them will easily fill me to the point of almost bursting.

“I go here for lunch sometimes and the food is good. Aki's has very good ramen, and the Tibetan restaurant is also very nice. At the Chinese place, the meat always tastes frozen. I rarely eat out in the court, since it is too crowded. The food court itself is very comfortable, with picnic tables and a wood patio.“

“My favorite restaurant in Epicurious is Mexicana Taqueria. One of the longest standing restaurants in the place for a reason. It’s a family owned joint, and all the staff are friendly, the food is great. I love the agua frescas and horchatas. I also like the sushi place, they have nice portions and friendly staff as well.
Moving onto the overall atmosphere, I am not a fan of the wide mirror in front of the seating area. I do love the outside seating; it feels like a Japanese garden.“
