The food is ok, not too salty but a bit oily. The dining experience is very bad. They forgot one of the dumplings I ordered, didn’t serve it until we finished. So I asked them to remove it for us if it’s not cooked yet.The waitress said it must been cooked. When she double checked with her colleagues and find out it wasn’t cooked it, she yelled at the kitchen asking them to make the order and told me it will only be 2 mins. Then it took 10 mins for the dumplings to be served. And the same dish was served first to others who ordered later than us.What a shame.

I love Shanghainese food but unfortunately we didn’t get a good experience here. The service was very slow, the utensils are not clean, and the food was overpriced. Would not come back

Ishanghai delight is our favorite Shanghainese place in Bay Area, we are so happy they opened a store in this area. We always order xiaolongbao, pan fried buns, and the soup. Their xiaolongbao is the best, great wrap, flavorful filling and a lot of soup inside (almost a spoonful), even the pan fried bun has soup inside.

This is my worst experience at the restaurant so far.First, the food is terrible. It is totally different from what we have before, I don't know what happened to them but it's taste bad. The lettuce should be cooked before serving, it is the traditional way to cook that, but they don't, they just put some sauce in the raw lettuce. For the fried rice cake, the flavor is plain, not cooked well, the color is bad as well. At the same time, the size of food is decreased sharply. I ordered an fried rice as well, before, the rice could served for 2-3 people, now it's not enough for one person, so I don't even have the mood taking picture of it.Secondly, the service is terrible, I don't like it. The servants never smile.

Only one server with over 15 tables, wait for a long time and no service at all. The crab meat in the noodle tossed crab roe noticeably reduced to less than a fifth of its previous quantity, however, with the same price. Pan fried pork bun are completely taken out of the freezer, not freshly made.

The environment is comfortable, and the service staff will come back regularly to patrol and refill water. The white-chopped chicken is tender and juicy, with springy skin. Xiaolongbao and pan-fried buns are also juicy and should be eaten while hot. Fried rice is average.Overall highly recommended…

It's open sometimes but not open. I went there three times and couldn't get anything to eat. I was blocked from entering half an hour before lunch break. If you want to have a leisurely meal and have fun, I don't recommend it. It will ruin your mood. There is only one waiter with a good attitude, but the other one has a very bad attitude, so bad that he doesn't even want to leave a tip... He keeps looking at him with contempt. When paying for the bill, he doesn't come over to ask if he can pay for it, but directly asks you to buy it quickly... Speechless .

If you are looking for traditional shanghai food, this is where you should try. Love it so much. Xiaolongbao is way much better than Din tai feng imo.

The food is just ok. Neither their dumplings or fried pork chop are comparable to those of Din Tai Fung’s, which are much more superior in taste. Now I fully understand why DTF’s prices are so high. As for the service, they gave us one glass of water and one piece of napkin, leaving my toddler with with none. :) I didn’t bother asking for another glass of water or more napkins as I was worried they may counter with a stupid excuse that would piss me off. In addition, no one ever stopped by to ask if we were doing okay. I don’t particularly expect to receive good customer service when eating at a Chinese restaurant. Therefore, I just kept silent and learned to appreciate the excellent customer service from Din Tai Fung, which is a Taiwanese restaurant. All in all, I reluctantly tipped them over $3, which is way too much for the service we received.

Our go-to restaurant for hometown food. Glad they open a branch in Valley Fair. Usually you don’t need to wait for long to get seated here. Food quality is always stable.

Decent tasting food, good portions, and at a reasonable price. The service is a pretty standard post COVID process especially for a Chinese restaurant. You scan a QR code at the table to order and a waiter brings it to you once it’s ready. Other than that, the staff doesn’t really bother you unless you call them over.I’d say it’s a good place for comfort food in the mall especially compared to some of the higher rated restaurants in the mall that have ridiculous lines.

Food quality was good. Just like other I-shanghai delight, but the menu is more limited. The pork dumpling (Xiaolongbao) is really great! We arrived at 6pm on a Friday night and there was no wait.

Shanghai Delight, located inside the mall alongside several other Asian restaurants, appears to be part of Valleyfair's effort to create a hub for diverse Asian cuisines and desserts, a wise move given the Bay Area's sizable population.Yesterday, I visited with my young niece, originally planning to have ramen noodles. However, we noticed a shorter line at Shanghai Delight compared to the ramen and udon noodle spots. Since my niece loves dumplings, we decided to give it a try. We waited in line for approximately 15 minutes, but larger groups had to endure longer waits due to the restaurant's small size. Given that there were only two of us, we ordered a limited selection of dishes to accommodate my picky eater niece. Our choices included pork belly, shrimp and pork dumplings, and crispy dumplings, all of which were quite tasty. Moreover, the prices were reasonable, in stark contrast to the upscale Din Tai Fung. Both restaurants seem to have limited interaction with their customers and service is spotty since they were super busy when we went on a Saturday afternoon. While they may not be the absolute best dumplings around (San Francisco offers some superior options), Shanghai Delight is a convenient choice close to home. I look forward to returning with a larger group to explore more of their menu.Kid-friendliness: They had plastic bowls and plates for kids which was great and a nice surprise.
