Akira Seabright Reviews
We stopped in on October 11 during happy hour. Being from Michigan, we did not know what to expect. Our daughter, now an Aptos resident, said this was her favorite place for sushi. We could see why! The flavors and variety of items were excellent. Best of all was our server Isabell. She was great; friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Great food, great service. Thank you.
We love Edward!! He provided the most amazing service. Very thoughtful, personable and speedy. We walked in with a group of 10 on a weekend and the servers were able to move the tables together to accommodate us immediately. Food was delicious! Highly recommend the sushi and bento lunches! The happy hour food was awesome! Thank you Akira! We love you!
My favorite place. Great vegan options. Amazing service and the best staff.

Akira Seabright is a restaurant known for its unique and generously sized sushi rolls. The tsunami roll remains a popular choice among customers. The restaurant can get busy, so it is recommended to sit at the counter for immediate service or expect a wait time of up to an hour. Fresh fish and quality portions are always guaranteed. Located in Seabright, next to Santa Cruz, it is a favorite spot for locals looking for sushi, nigiri, or sashimi. The food is delicious and tastes fresh, with standout dishes like the Kult Classic and the Bacon of the Sea roll. The dragon scales are also noted for their unique flavor combination. The staff is helpful, attentive, and laid back, making for a great experience, even when handling large groups. While service can be slow, it is friendly and the atmosphere is enjoyable, enhanced by cool art on the walls. A wider white wine selection would be a nice addition for those not in the mood for sake. Overall, the place offers fun and friendly service, and every roll is over the top, especially if one enjoys Asian fusion with a strong sushi and sashimi component.
