I love this hotel, the space (especially outside) is amazing, and we had a wonderful time. However, I really hope them to figure out how to make this restaurant work. The service was very slow and they haven't yet figure it out (probably getting started). The food was very disappointing, small portions, not great flavor, very basic. And it is very very expensive, especially for the quality. I am sorry I really hope you figure it out, we really want to come back to stay here.
We recently had an event in the separate room at high tide. It was a bit of a somber day to us and we hoped to have a special and memorable dinner of peace and reflection. The High Tide staff went above and beyond - many special touches, a beautiful environment, fantastic service, and amazing food. Had an absolute amazing experience here. Top notch Michelin level service and food. Server was professional, food was amazing. Literally the only critique would be the music. Didn't match the experience or ambiance.

High Tide is a beautiful, recently opened restaurant in Santa Cruz with a beautifully decorated space and great second-floor views. The restaurant offers prix fixe menus, with a three-course or four-course option. Dishes are delicately plated, outstanding, and delicious. Many reviews found the food fantastic, off the charts good, and fresh, with perfect preparation.
Specific standout dishes mentioned include the crab cakes, described as delicious and perfectly crunchy. The mushroom risotto is noted as a great choice, full of flavor with several kinds of mushrooms. The filet mignon receives praise for being really good with perfect seasoning, while the blackened cod and seared Hokkaido scallops are cooked perfectly and very good.
