Okay okay so this bar is under new management I understand….I’ve been here for over a decade yup yup…. A lot of …. Idk…. But she was mad I bought an Negroni and tipped 1 $ and then. I asked for the cheapest drink at 6 7 $ and I left a 1 dollar tip and she said I never tip…. YOUNGSTERS GOTTA LEARN A TIP IS A PRIVILEGE…NOT A RIGHT …… but she cool…….they all COOL!!!!!!!!. But yea. Go Tip her!!!!!

This place is super fun since they banned smoking! They have darts, pool, shuffleboard, pinball, other activities, friendly people, and the drinks are solid. One of the regulars helped my friends and I change a flat tire in the parking lot 😂 very welcoming crowd!

New owners killed the Ambiance that made it great too bad is very empty since the change. I think I'll head to the Red Room from now on spending my money there.
I wish the new owners luck cuz they're going to need it

Giving 5 stars in hopes the new owners keep this place running as a dive bar and don’t try to make it something it’s not. Santa Cruz already lost the Watering Hole and the Poet and the Patriot, we can’t afford to lose any more classic spots, they don’t come back once they are gone. Please keep it a no frills bar for regular folks.

This is our favorite place in Santa Cruz to meet friends and play pool especially the tournaments. The tournaments are good for all levels and the players are very good. If you're a new player, they will be helpful to you, give you tips, etc. There's a nice local crowd who are fun and good people.

Be informed. New owner according to a local bartender. Smoking DISCONTINUED at the bar. They had a cigar license for s separate enclosed room, but stretched it to include the bar. So was likely the last cigarette and drink indoors bar in Cali 😕
