Clean, healthy, and fresh Mexican food! Today was my first time trying, and I got a regular chicken burrito. It came with black beans, rice, cabbage, cilantro, and seasoned chicken meat. I found that the burrito was quite dry, but that was fixed by adding some of their salsa. If I ordered a burrito again I would add sour cream or guacamole to it. Sadly, the tortilla chips were stale, and went straight into the garbage. I do like that they have whole wheat and spinach tortillas. The green salsa is delicious! Try it! Service was fast and friendly. I'll definitely come back to try a different menu item.

This is my go to for Mexican food because they use organic produce, the oils dont make me feel heavy, their tacos are really tasty, the staff is always nice, quick service, and clean.

Simply the best! If you love chicken mole. You GOTTA have Vivas chicken mole! It tastes just like mi mamas. I'm from East Los Angeles. I have had chicken mole from many places. Vivas tacos are so good! Try the pastor! Just go get you some tacos!

My review on the torta. It was so dry and bland. The chicken was good. But I think they should put mayo on it. Some jalapeños and more cheese. And the bread to be toasted. I don't think it's worth 8 bucks. I was so disappointed. Maybe other stuff is good. But this wasn't like the best torta. It's meh....

Vivas is a mediocre quality Mexican restaurant whose business practices are equally frustrating and tedious. Vivas tends to close whenever they deem fit with no prior warning nor notification ultimately leaving the consumer having to guess – a practice that seems routine at this point. In my time as a student at UCSC I seldom recall seeing Vivas open an hour before their scheduled closing time let alone working all the way to their final published hours. If by some divine miracle you actually make it inside the restaurant (A feat in itself) you’ll be greeted by high prices, mediocre service, a base establishment, and of course mediocre food. While the food itself isn’t inherently bad, being fairly good at times (Ingredients here are fairly high in quality) – it seems that Vivas has fallen out of touch with the community around it; which is why due to their poor business practices I’ve ultimately decided that I would not choose to go to Viva’s again. Until consistency and communication are improved on, I cannot recommend Viva’s to anybody.

Viva Mexican food being a thing here on slug territory. I managed to try this spot right before commencement and it closing for the summer. Nestled up a hill in Crown College, it's worth the trek up here to get some good Mexican to fill your soul. Their menu is extensive featuring tacos, burritos, bowls, tortas, tostadas, etc. You can also purchase dinner plates that come with veggies, rice, and beans, each of them being a bit pricier than the former. For our lunch get-together, I ordered their Carne Asada Torta ($7) and was satisfied with the quality of my food. Interestingly, my bowl came with a lot of beans and not enough of everything else- my cilantro fix was not met today. However, the staff are super nice and I'm sure you can get more if you asked. My meat was good but not tender enough for my liking. While the portions are a bit smaller than normal, I think of it as being portioned out so students avoid the First Year 15 syndrome. Still, $7 for a bowl or two tacos is a really good deal on campus. Overall, Vivas is a solid spot for students who want something different on campus and helps to get those cravings out of the way.

Buncha cowards that close early that work here. I had a doordash order to pick at 1:58 and I was there at 1:45 and those losers closed early and wouldn't even open the door to talk to me. They were cowardly men btw. The order was already place and they screwed over everyone.

Parking is tricky so park in public lot 2blocks away. Food is always fresh. Tostadas are good but the Chile rellenos are Really good. Walk up to counter to order and get food. They are always pleasant and fast

Had a confusing encounter close to closing time, as if the staff were willing to serve me, then said they were closed. I've been coming here for years, but pretty nonplussed by that.

I never write negative reviews!! I would give zero stars if I could!!! I always go here and have been happy but when me and my friend went this time there was a new guy at the counter...first off he was trying to charge me more on what I usually got and not only that when I finally got my food the chips tasted old and there was SPIT IN MY SALSA!!!!!! DON'T GO HERE!!!! I'm so disgusted!!
