This is such a fun bar! Came here with a friend on a Friday night to catch some drinks. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole venue. When you walk in, the place has a quirky vibe to it with multiple pictures of clowns, a huge skeleton and other interesting art that will quickly catch your eye. On one side of the place, there's multiple game options such as giant jenga, giant connect four, uno and other games. The bar area is a good size and the bartenders were amazing. They were super personable and quickly caught our attention to take our drink orders. Most of the menu is Soju based drinks which I found pretty interesting. I will definitely be back!

Friendly manager behind the bar. Good selection of beers and a yummy soju Piña collada on tap! Eclectic type decor of old photos & paintings.

Stopped over here briefly for a quick nightcap on a Friday. Interesting decor on the inside and not crowded at all considering the time of night.Solid beer and cocktail list at reasonable prices. Ordered a pint of the "A-Slo-Ha" by Slo Brewery ($6ish) - an incredibly juicy IPA that's crushable. Vibes inside are nice as there's a movie playing on the TV, no loud music, and some shuffleboard to the side.Bartender is chill and got our drinks out quickly. No issues with this spot at all, just an easy place for a quick/quiet drink.

My October visit to Weary Livers was an intriguing experience. As I walked in around 9 PM on a Friday night, I was met with an unexpected hush. The place was remarkably quiet for a typical Friday night, providing an oddly tranquil atmosphere. However, I couldn't help but appreciate the year-round Halloween decor that gave the place a unique and somewhat eerie charm.Inside, there was only one bartender holding down the fort, which explained the serene ambiance. Despite the limited staff, the service was efficient, and the lone bartender did a great job in crafting cocktails.Weary Livers primarily offers soju cocktails, which was a bit disappointing for someone like me who enjoys a more diverse cocktail menu. However, my initial disappointment quickly turned into appreciation as I took my first sip of their soju concoctions. The bartender's expertise shone through, and the drinks were delicious. They offered a creative twist on traditional cocktails, and the flavors were well-balanced.One noteworthy aspect is Weary Livers' extensive beer selection. They might focus on soju cocktails, but if you're a beer enthusiast, you'll find solace in their variety of brews. In summary, Weary Livers provides a unique and somewhat spooky experience. The quiet Friday night ambiance, year-round Halloween decor, and impressive soju cocktails are definitely worth checking out. Plus, if you're a beer lover, their substantial beer selection is a pleasant surprise. Give it a try if you're in the mood for something different in Santa Monica.

Barkowski will always have a special place in my heart. This new iteration is just... okay to weird.I finally paid Weary Livers a visit on a Wednesday night after noticing the change in ownership/bar. They kept a lot of the games and decor from the previous bar, Barkowski. It's just a bit dimmer. The bartender was nice and checked in on me regularly. However, he had a kid with him (I assume his son?) even though it says at the door that no persons under 21 are allowed. That totally killed the vibe.As an LA native who loves Charles Bukowski and had great memories at Barkowski, I'm sad that his namesake bar is gone and replaced with just another bar.

Gorgeous decor and super nice bartender. Best fancy drink I’ve had since I-don’t-know when. Going back next week with a different friend. Can’t wait for her to try it.

Great wine beer and soju bar on the Westside serving unique cocktails. Don’t expect a full bar. Darts and shuffle board keep the fun going. Awesome owner and bartenders!

Bummer. Had high hopes but I sat and waited at the bar for about 30 MINUTES and the bartender never took my order. In fact, he didn’t greet or acknowledged me. ? Is this a local only or non-black serving bar I hear about all the time since moving to the westside? It kind of felt like discrimination, considering he tended to all of the white men sitting at the bar needs. (9-9:30PM-ish Nov 12, 22)
