“Dropped by AJA Winery yesterday. The wines here are quite good—the 2017 Syrah was a standout for me. Prices are fair considering it's a tasting room in Santa Monica.

Service was a mixed bag: the gentleman working there was super chill and friendly—honestly wished we had interacted with him more! On the other hand, our host felt a bit standoffish and unwelcoming. When I mentioned I enjoy medium-bodied wines like Chiantis, she bluntly corrected me to say Chianti isn't medium-bodied, which set a cold tone for the visit. Good wine overall, but hospitality could be a bit more consistent.“

Throughout the day, he shared fascinating stories and insights that helped me discover a completely different side of Malibu—far beyond the beaches, waves, and surf culture it’s famous for.

I was amazed to learn about Malibu’s beautiful canyons, parks, and breathtaking landscapes, all of which are absolutely worth exploring. The wine tasting itself was spectacular, featuring excellent wines in stunning surroundings, and the lunch was generous, delicious, and served in a lovely location.

What makes this tour special is that it’s much more than a wine tasting experience—it’s an opportunity to truly discover Malibu through the eyes of someone who knows and loves the area. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and the entire day felt relaxed, engaging, and memorable.
