The Abbey Seal Beach offers a casual, beach‑town atmosphere with a friendly crowd and staff. The menu features classic bar food and pizza made in a brick‑fired oven. Popular items include hand‑tossed pizza, sausage pizza, fried chicken sandwich, burgers, buffalo chicken tenders, fish & chips, corned beef sandwich, and a chicken caprese sandwich on ciabatta with basil pesto, tomato, cheese, and grilled chicken. The main street BBQ teriyaki salmon plate comes with rice, broccoli, carrots, and a teriyaki sauce, while the ahi pokey nachos are a favorite for the party. Skinny cut fries and coleslaw are served with most dishes, though some say the coleslaw needs more dressing. Craft beer selection is praised, especially the hazy IPA. Service is generally prompt and pleasant, though the venue is small and can become crowded; wait times can be long, especially on Saturday evenings. The bar offers a relaxed sports‑watching spot and even welcomes dogs. Overall, The Abbey Seal Beach delivers tasty, straightforward fare and a welcoming vibe for locals and visitors alike. Guests often note that seating can fill quickly during peak hours, and a 30‑minute wait may turn into over an hour, but many return because the food remains consistent and enjoyable.
