It was my first visit there. We ordered takeout dinners: grilled Tilapia with black-eyed peas & collard greens and Catfish dinner with collards and potato salad. The food was excellent! Well-seasoned; not full of sodium nor greasy. We will definitely be returning.
When we came in it was a little quiet, but the company already here cheered us in and welcomed us. We’re celebrating a marriage, and this place was definitely the place to do it. The bartenders, DJ, and who I could assume are regulars were all super badass and kept the amazing vibe going. We will definitely come back ?♥️

We had so much fun at Deja Blue. The chef definitely knows how to cook and Daryl (the owner) is friendly and warm and very welcoming...high recommend! The place has a mural of blues greats painted on the exterior wall and posters of the previous performers decking out the walls inside. One of my favorite things is hush puppies and theirs have jalepeno in them. great collard greens too.

If in town definitely try their food! Fabulous people and service! Fantastic food, LaRge portions! Tasty beverages too. I got the delicious catfish my friend ordered the phenomenal bbq chicken which was Half a Chicken the homemade Hennessey bbq sauce is incredible. Highly recommend.

at 5:30 my friends and I walked into here, we were told to sit anywhere and as we did we were not seen to until around 8 mins afterwards. When we were asked if we were ready to order we were told as each of us ordered a different item off the menu it was either all gone or only severed in the morning which is understandable but would've been nice to know ahead of time and the waitress mentioned that this happens frequently. What we did settle for however, no one was satisfied or happy with what $25 got us here. We did however like the music, the waitress was very nice, and the potentially good atmosphere, that we unfortunately didn't get to experience. I can understand when a restaurant has an off experience, but all these things combined weren't one off to me. I hope maybe it was but this was my friends and my experienc.

I love going to Deja Blue Soul Food Restaurant! The food is authentic and consistently delicious. We eat here every time I come to town. My cousin, who has lived in Seaside for over 50 years, has known the proprietor, former Seaside Councilman, Darryl Choates, from back when Darryl was a school-aged boy. Darryl is a hands-on restaurateur and is always welcoming, friendly, and hospitable. He even sits down with us to discuss the future of Seaside, as he sees it. He makes us feel like family.

Every thing we ordered was just heated up frozen, canned, or boxed foods. Meatloaf, onion rings, yams, mashed potatoes...not worth eating this food at all. Extremely disappointed.

I originally ordered the oxtail and combo plate, was told the oxtail was sold out. I ordered the pork chops for $26 and the pork chops were like baby size. Food was okay. I don’t recommend the pork chops, not for the price.
