The staff is lovely. The food for lunch overpriced. $29 burger and $34 for rice dish. Non-alcoholic drinks same price as regular drinks. Too bad since it is a cozy atmosphere.

Very good, but smallish dinner menu. Their vegetarian options are excellent. I highly recommend the Kimchi pancake (or whatever they call it). Also recommend the “Umami Bomb”. The non veggie options are pretty good too. Great cocktail menu.

Very nice meal at Fern Bar. I have celiac, so their gluten free choices are pretty good. They also have a dedicated fryer so fried chicken and French fries are free from cross contamination. Yes the fried chicken coating is gluten free. Drinks were great, and the service superb. If you're dairy free, they were super cooperative with that too. They made a grasshopper with coconut milk instead of cream. Delicious.

Horrible quality, everything has gone downhill slowly in the recent months. Not worth it like it used to be.

Fern Bar is a gem in the Barlow! The staff was accommodating on a reservation change - and the service from David was impeccable. The cocktail menu is different and fun and the food was so unique and DELICIOUS. Casual spot to pop in for a quiet cocktail.

First time here. Cocktails were very good. Food was good but a bit overpriced in our opinion; sign of the times I guess. Wife and I shared the chips with blue cheese dip. $19 for potato chips and dip is a bit much but it was tasty and they did give us extra chips. The main course was the lamb stuffed cabbage. It shocked me at $32 for about 3 ounces of ground lamb in a cabbage leaf and a small side of quinoa and harissa. I would have thought two stuffed cabbage rolls at this price. Atmosphere is fun. Love the tropical vibe. We will definitely return!

Mediocre food (3 of the 4 in our party were disappointed; we are not foodies and generally flexible but the food was subpar); routine (certainly not superior) service; ambiance is good; very, very overpriced (shockingly so); restaurant added a 3% surcharge for credit card, which I now know is illegal in California.
Note from 1/19/25: owner now denies the service charge, but it was certainly on the bill. Perhaps they have stopped doing it (good) but be very cautious about this restaurant: mediocre food, uninspiring service and defensive management. They are long past their prime, if they had one.

We enjoyed happy hour here while stopping by from out of town. A beautiful bar with tasty food and drinks. We got the Mango Moscow Mule and Smoked Blackberry Margarita. The dipping sauces for the fries were all so good. The bar tender was very nice and knowledgeable.

Whoever rated this mid ass place 5 need to get checked. Mid food with nothing good to show for it. If you want a good insta pic but bad food, come here. This service was mid super slow and super expensive. Would not come back unless it's 3 am and my last option. And starving

Thank you for all the gluten free options! Seeing "celiac safe" on so many menu items was amazing, and all the food was fantastic! I loved the umami bomb (mushroom bowl) and the gluten free fried chicken.

Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free options that are celiac safe!

Fantastic brunch. After a couple of tasty cocktails we had an order of the Baked Eggs (very good with a nice hit of cardamom) and the Spam and Eggs (with the "spam" being a very good bacon sausage). Finished the meal with an order of beignets served with an apple butter sauce. Ourstanding! Great service, decor...everything! An oasis on a 100 degree day! We'll be back for further culinary adventures! Highly recommended!

I really appreciate Fern Bar's carefully written menu because it has a labeling system that identifies Vegan, Celiac safe, Vegetarian, Gluten Free and Dairy Free menu choices. The cocktails are a highlight and we always start with a drink. We like the lively feel of the place and the mix of patrons.
