When the original location was open in the heart of the Salinas valley, Gonzales, is when I fell in love with the food and service at The Windmill. I remember having the steak marsala for the first time in the well lit, but still homey, aesthetic in this restaurant housed in a building that was once and art deco'd bank. Now in Soledad, the food and service hasn't changed a bit... They just couldn't find a bank like the one in Gonzales :)
Ever since I moved to the city of Soledad I tried this restaurant. It's the best in town in my own opinion. All the staff are friendly and super helpful. There menu is amazing and the quality of food is always on point. Today I was helped by Adriana as our waitress and she was on top of all our needs. I would recommend this spot to anybody passing through or living near the area. Oh, I forgot there menudo on the weekends is super bomb also

This place has massive portions of food, and the food all tasted amazing. They are heavy handed with the mimosas, so be careful if you’re a lightweight lol. Overall, good bang for your buck, I’d go back.
