DONT GO HERE!!!!

Extremely poor service. We waited in line for 15 to 20 minutes. We had servers and hostess walk right by us. Didn’t ask us if we’ve been helped or anything. They have a sign that says please wait to be seated and we stood there and waited. I watched two big groups of people leave because of the lack of service. We went inside and asked if we could see ourselves, and they said no. The hostess will be with you. Then we went inside again after a couple more minutes of waiting, and she said she didn’t see us, and the couple of groups behind us. Extremely poor service and on top of all of this, they were extremely slow, so there was no excuse for that terrible service

We hosted our welcome party at Cantarito Cocina Y Bar in South Lake Tahoe the night before our destination wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, everything about the evening was spot-on.

The food was incredible—we had fajitas, guacamole, salsa with chips, and margaritas, and every bite (and sip!) was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The fajitas were a huge hit with our guests, and the guac and salsa had that authentic, homemade taste that’s hard to beat. The margaritas were strong, refreshing, and the perfect touch for a celebratory evening.

The staff at Cantarito were so welcoming and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly and that our group felt right at home. The atmosphere was festive and fun, just what we wanted to kick off our wedding weekend.

If you’re looking for a place in South Lake Tahoe for a group event—or just a seriously good Mexican meal—Cantarito Cocina Y Bar is a must. 10/10 would recommend without hesitation!

Gave 4 stars because it was pricey but the food was great. No free chips and salsa here like we are used to back home. Had terrific margaritas and the chicken quesadilla was cheesy and delicious.

Amazing tacos and margaritas! This place is an absolute gem- so happy to have an option that isn't typical casino corridor fare food! You can taste it's homemade- we will absolutely be back!

We were immediately greeted with a hostess that had a bad attitude from the beginning, and then completely ignored us, they kept sitting other guests and tending to them, after 15-20 we had enough and had to leave.

I can't comment on the food as I never got any. After being sat we waited for over 20 minutes with not one person coming over to our table. Another table that had been sat 15 minutes after us had service within minutes. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time. We left.

Got day right away at a table and completely forgotten.. absolutely horrible service.. no one checked in us to take out order.. we left after 15 minutes.. it wasn't that busy at lunch time.. so who knows how the food tastes

Place was good our server Matias was such a great server one of the best we’ve ever experienced !! The beginning girl was a little mean but other then that, food was yum!

Boyfriend and I stopped by for some chips and queso and it was really really good. We left our wallet behind and were able to track it down the next day and had a nice time here. Heavenly village is the place to go for sure!!!!!
