Incredible service and the food was amazing. The owner was very kind and shared her journey and passion of bringing the restaurant to life.

We were greeted by one of the owners with lots of positive energy and were excited for our experience. We were SO DISAPPOINTED! No one came to our table for 17 minutes. I finally tracked down the other owner and he apologized and offered us a drink. We were not drinking so did not accept his offer. Other patrons came in 15 minutes after us. and they were served WAY before us. We were there for 50 minutes before we ware served. I had the shrimp and grits...the shrimp was more than blacked, tough and over cooked. I may have gotten 1/4 cup of grits and if there was a mushroom, I did not find it. My husband had maybe 2 oz of steak on his Caesar salad. NO bread, no crackers...Our one and ONLY TIME we will dine here. I hope others have better luck.

Nice location and atmosphere. Gracious host seated us on the patio, drinks were fantastic. Perhaps we should not have chosen this restaurant as we are from the Louisiana area because food was mediocre, and hot spices were overwhelming. Grits were watery and not thick. Personnel were quick and courteous.

Food, service, and overall experience was great! One of South Lake Tahoe's hidden gems and plan to go back 100%. The owners are great and truly care and love what they do.

Chris was amazing! The food was delicious! We ordered shrimp and grits, gumbo and salmon with quinoa.

Decent food but I believe the second worst service I've ever had. I think she was outside flirting with other bar guests. Not the nice dinner out with the family I had hoped for, just an extended loud bar scene.

It could have been so much better! The serive was incredibly slow. Our appetizer came out before the cocktails. The entrees took almost an hour! Sandwiches were decent as was the mushroom ravioli, but it was cold, so not sure what happened there. My husband's shrimp and grits were severely overcooked. We'd ordered another cocktail before our entrees came, but they never arrived before we'd finished eating. As she was busing the table the waitress, said she hadn't forgotten about our martinis, but it was too late. We were over it.

This place was very close to our motel accommodations and we had walked past it for a few days and finally decided to try it on our last night in Taboe. We sat outside and it was great ambiance! There was live music next door but not too loud and we could still chat at our table amongst ourselves. Our server, Chris, was amazing and our food was sooo delicious! We got drinks and the roasted brussel sprouts to start and for our meals we chose Filet Minon and NY steak w/mushroom ravioli. Each dish was so well presented and tasted amazing!! We will definitely be back!

I'm terrible at remember names...but the first contact was a very warm and enthusiastic greeting by hostess. Our waiter was very attentive and interactive but not overbearing. Our group of 4 had the salmon, gumbo with shrimp, shrimp and grits, and the Toulouse burger. Everyone raved about their meal. We topped off with the banana bread pudding with a scoop of ice cream...to DIE FOR!!

Solid choice for a diverse group. The peach bruchetta was yum and the shrimp and grit was pretty legit- not as creamy as I prefer but nice spice balance with the cheese. I opted to skip the sausage...that was probably a mistake. Good service and fair priced

Our waitress was wonderful. After finishing our meal, ordering another round of drinks, and immediately paying the bill, the owner stopped by the table, acknowledged we had just received our full drinks, and asked if he could move our table of 6 to the bar. We agreed and then were told the bar was full so we would need to stand at a small cocktail table near the entrance. Then the owner stopped by again nearly 10 minutes later and gave us a hard time for "still standing" and drinking our drinks where he had told us to stand.

We went for happy hour last thursday.
Ordered a French 75, it was the best French 75 I've had
Fresh lemon juice and perfectly balanced, very good. Then I ordered an Expresso martini, absolutely the tastiest one I've drank, so good !! .Michael was our bartender and told him how much we loved our cocktails..would go there all the time if I lived there
Did nt eat but if the drinks are like the food I dont think you can miss
Thank you Michael was just the greatest !

We had such a great breakfast at Toulouse! The shrimp and grits were absolutely incredible, and the house pancakes were some of the best we’ve had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Amy was our server, and she was so sweet, attentive, and fast. She made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!
