“This place is the best! We’re from Colorado and we found this place three years ago when we were visiting. We’ve dreamt about their fish and shrimp tacos ever since, so we make it a point to stop by whenever we’re in San Diego. This last trip was no different. We even went twice this year because they recommended their garlic and butter fish and shrimp tacos and they’re to die for (along with everything else we’ve had). While they do have outdoor seating available, we ate in our car because we had our pup with us. When we went back, they even said they remembered us. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, the place is clean and the food is tasteful. We just wish they would bring their truck to Denver so we could have them more often!“

“Have driven by this truck a thousand times but never stopped by until tonight, and we were so happy we did! We’ve been sleeping on this place for way too long. The cabeza, adobada, and birria tacos were all cooked perfectly and the salsas were on point too. Lastly, the carne asada in their California burrito couldn’t have been better. The service was also as friendly as can be, making sure we got everything you need. I think we found our new regular spot. Oh and they might have the best Jamaica.“

“This place is amazing. Had the fish tacos and shrimp tacos both were deep fried and delicious. Hubby had the aguachile bontanas and it was so fresh and filling. Fresh made tortillas for the tacos and tostadas. Also had the clamato which quenched my thirst.
I was also completely endeared to the fact that it was an elderly gentleman cooking and seemed to have a speech impediment. The time it took to cook the food was well worth the wait“

“I stop here every time I’m in this side of my neighborhood. Take the 15 freeway and Exit El Cajon Blvd, go East a few blocks but don’t pass Menlo Ave. Look for Fish and Birria signs waving. They have the whole parking lot just drive in! I usually have two or three Fish tacos (w/o crema) and a pop then they usually know when I’m done because my to-go order is hot and ready!! My grandson is very picky but he looks forward to their Carne Asada Quesa taco’s. I’ve tried a lot off their menu and have never been disappointed, ever. They also GIVE you a “Consommé” which is actually a small portion of their seafood soup not just the fluid, I’ve had whole shrimp in mine many times and small pieces of fish. They’re not stingy with their variety of hot salsas/chili pods and garnishes (limes, cilantro, onions and pickled onions. Lots of ice cold canned and bottled drinks to choose from. This is my only food truck I trust 100% and love their quality of cooking. You’ll agree too once you try them out!“

“This place has been pulling up to my apartment almost weekly and I decided to give it a shot tonight. Admittedly I wasn’t expecting much, I was wrong. IT.WAS.AMAZING. I have lived in San Diego for my whole life and this was hands down the best quality quesabirra tacos I’ve had from a taco truck. Food was amazing price for the portion size. Definitely will be back to try more! Oh and the churros are really good too!

“Absolutely love the variety of combos. It allows you to have some of everything in one order. Food was hot and freshly served. Thumbs up on the Mac n cheese, candied yams with my order. They ran out of catfish at the days end today otherwise, It would have been my 2nd consecutive order. Also loved the signature taste of the chicken, and the fact that it was very hot and freshly served. I eat more at home than I do out, but many of their items are like home cooked so I will be back! “I decided to try this on a Saturday to fill my mariscos crave and was totally blown away!The food on the menu was way above my expectation, it’s like getting restaurant quality at the convenience of a food truck. Best bang for your buck. Even the area to eat was shaded with turf and a TV for entertainment.The line was a bit long but they got my food out relatively quick. 10/10 recommend this place… it’s a sleeper ?“

“First time having BBQ at Bowlegged BBQ. portion are large had the Ribs , Mac n Cheese, Coleslaw, Sweet Corn Bread. Ribs were so good, Coleslaw was refreshing but had a little kit of spice ? ?, Mac n Cheese was also good.
