Convenient market-place under one roof to get your fix of almost all things Japanese, edible and non-edible. And it is now part of a re-vamped re-newed Del Amo mall -- probably in hopes that consumers will do literally all their shopping here. Mitsuwa pricing might be slightly more expensive than your regular grocery, but like with any market, just check the weekly and after-hours specials. Excellent seafood, e.g. hamachi straight from Japan, is available here. You'll find a stationery and book shop, toys, baby/children's items, cosmetics, video, myriad of gifts, knick-knacks. Food vendors from the previous stand-alone store have been down-sized since the move to this mall. But the food court at Mitsuwa Marketplace remains bustling. Purveyors specialise from ramen to curry to mochi doughnuts and more. Santouka and Hamada-ya still going strong. Service at most counters is fine and efficient.Shout-out to the o-g location; one of the most spacious Japanese market places anywhere in Cali, it was awesome. They had dedicated parking surrounding and under-neath the supermarket. Plenty of parking at Del Amo, but the real estate and interior at the Carson/Western space made for a really unique Mitsuwa experience. Still this locale remains ideal for hot fresh authentic Japanese eats, and a splendid place to stock up your entire home in Nippon style. Mitsuwa is a true highlight, delight, and one of the best things at Del Amo.

I love this Mitsuwa. It's huge, has a nice food court, but most importantly they sell Royce chocolates. Royce chocolates are so good, although they need to be refrigerated and a pain in my behind. I decided not to get it. I didn't want to carry it back to Hawaii and I had no room in my luggage. Plus, I already had some on this trip in Vegas. They sell everything here from produce, meats, seafood, sushi and makeup. The sushi looked fresh and appetizing. The Creme Sanrio makeup is so cute. They sell it here at Don Quijote, so I didn't pick any up.Most importantly they have a great food court in this place. They had stalls that sold bentos, udons, matcha drinks and Korean dogs. The stall that shocked me the most was Honolulu Coffee Co. I'm so far from home and this place is staring me in the face, lol.

Lots of selection, including a ramen shop and a bakery. The staff was polite and helpful. Everything from food, to drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol) to makeup, house cleaners, and kids toys/candy all at a fair price.

Tried their sashimi and it was delicious. I will definitely be back when I am in the area. Cashier who rung me up was super nice; she provided me with chopsticks and soy sauce. There is also a good selection of food stands inside.

Another Japanese store which also has locations in NorCal Bay Area, I came by here specifically to check out their gachapon arcade and grab some snacks for the road. They also have a food court with a variety of restaurants to dine at along with the Kinokuniya book store which are located in most Mitsuwa markets. I also wanted to look for Smiskis which are these derpy looking collectible figurines because they're so cute! My boyfriend and our friends decided to grab a bite here since we didn't have any plans until dinner and I opted for the tuna mayo onigiri which was a bit too salty for my liking and the bluefin toro nigiri! The sushi was amazing for it's price and quality which was about $12.49 for five pieces. Their bookstore is located in the back left of the store, there's a lot to explore and makes a good destination for Japanese goodies.

4/5 stars! This place is nice, quaint, has a decent selection. Their ready to eat food toward the back of the store always taste so fresh! The prices are a bit higher than Tokyo Central but in a way, you kinda get more for your buck here! My only complaint is over an encounter I had with an employee. I was at the self checkout. I paid for my groceries and even paid for a plastic bag. When I asked the employee where the plastic bags were she responded "I'm not a cashier" and walked away. Very rude. Very unprofessional. I don't know her name but she was a younger, female hispanic. Other than the one situation, I really can't complain about this place!

I miss having this place be on western Blvd to be honest but still I love me some mitsuwa sushi and ramen and other Japanese goodies you find there from either the supermarket or the food courtKnown for having some of the best ramen I agree and their spicy tuna sushi is truly my fav style with their recipe This place is like target for me... you go in expecting to buy one thing and come out hurting on the wallet hahaha

This newly relocated headquarter store in my hometown was an enjoyable visit. The store overall is smaller but the layout and cleanliness and displayed prepared bento boxes and sushi are always a draw. The food court makes up the other half of the store. It's conveniently located in the Del Amo mall which draws more foot traffic.

It's an ordinary Mitsuwa, but with an incredible classy modern permanent outdoor dining patio that makes the experience feel above and beyond. Partially shaded with an extension of the building's roof. There's a narrow single eater table space with bar stools and beautiful succulent plantings so that even if you're eating alone, you can feel like there's a place for you to belong. Ample group seating for groups of two, or groups of four, and for those with more people, there's circular tables along the perimeter for a family style seating. I actually live closer to other Mitsuwas, but because of this dining patio alone, I make a special trip out to this Mitsuwa - the King of Mitsuwas. Unfortunately, even though this patio is indeed permanent, sometimes they close it when there's inclement weather, which blows. Because when it's raining, that's when the urge for a big piping hot bowl of Santouka arises and what better than to enjoy the contrast of beautiful, happy noodles in the luxury of staring at the miserable weather? Ideal for pairing with a visit to the nearby South Coast Botanic Garden, if you're in the area and have transportation. The patio area seems to be really popular during rush hours, because there's also signage to kindly ask customers to relinquish your seat when done to let other people enjoy it too.
