Dear Me, We love this place. We always come back. Just wanted to remind you to order 1-1.5 prime rib order/person. Lets try the intestine and pork miso (instead of salt) next time. IMPT REMINDER: Do not bite the meat in half. Use the meat to make a meat rice roll and enjoy! I repeat, no biting. 1 meat slice per bite only. Ur welcome

Seikoen is my all-time favorite Yakiniku restaurant in South Bay. Outstanding and very tasty food. This place is a kind of local hidden gem so I highly recommend a reservation.

- Gluttony Expedition - Super prime rib: I usually love short rib but never here. Theirs are too chewy for me. "Tsuruhashi " in Fountain valley offers way better ones. I don't like it. Top sirloin: good. Beef tongue: good as always. Tender and tasty. Beef tripe "mino": very tender and chewy in a nice way. Good! Yukke bibimbap: they do offer great quality on the raw beef. Amazing. - Conqueror's Deduction - It's a solid Japanese/Korean bbq place, though they really don't offer good short ribs unfortunately. Everything else is quite good!

We called ahead of time to make reservations for two at 5:30 on a Friday. We didn't have a problem getting a table but it seemed like as the night went on it was full and it would've been hard to just walk in. The meats were AMAZINGGGG. We got the beef tongue, sirloin, prime rib, short rib. THEY WERE ALL DELICIOUS. They don't serve any sides though so you have to order extra. We ordered rice, salad, and mixed vegetables. The restaurant is super busy and a bit understaffed so it's not the fastest service. The sides were also a bit on the expensive side The meats though were amaaaaazing and totally worth it for the price.

Wanted to try this place out for awhile because my partner and I had recently moved to torrance and have been hitting up the bbq scene and been really impressed overall with our findings. Came here on Sunday around 5:30 - got seated fairly quickly, the portions came out pretty small, also seemed to vary table to table- with a single portion at one table being significantly bigger than a single portion at other tables... but the biggest offense was the grill we had, it wasn't clean, and when we cooked and charred our food we could literally taste the grill itself. Partway thru service we asked for a grill change and the one they replaced it with also wasn't clean... Food was ok, pretty affordable for for Japanese bbq, but didn't blow us away.

I hardly do this. I loved this place. Im going to keep it very simple. They were super rude and unaccommodating when we arrived. They denied our reservation because a group of looking to be "regulars" had suddenly arrived. My heart is shattered in a way, have been here many times over the years..

First time here, it was really hard to get reservation but they were able to squeeze us in at 5pm. The meat selection was excellent, affordable and delicious, what more can you ask for. The staff are friendly and fast service. They have noodles, soup, salad and other items on their menu which is good for our family. Will be back and will definitely make reservations next time.

The meat quality here is outstanding. Service is 10+ , I highly recommend the skirt steak, beef tongue, pork cheek and yukke. The place may look old but it gives it that nice cozy feeling like being in Japan. I really love this place and the owners. They are really nice and are friendly people. However, my only concern is that the owners need to do some thing about the chairs. They are all duct taped with black tape and the tape is all peeling back. The glue from the tape got all over my shorts and destroyed them. Talk about sticky buns . Either way, besides the seat issue, I still highly recommend coming here. But you may want to place a piece of paper over the seat before sitting down just to save you from sticky buns. LOL.

Seikoen is one of those hidden gems that catches you by surprise. It is one of the best bang for your buck Japanese bbq I've ever visited. Prime Rib was ~10.50. Tongue ~10.50. For that price, the quality of meat was incredible. Unlike Korean bbq, it does NOT come with sides, so be mindful of that when ordering. Restaurant is pretty small, so I recommend calling in for a reservation ESPECIALLY if you come in during weekends. It can also get a bit smokey as the ventilation was pretty weak. The one waitress running the show solo was super sweet. Highly recommend to anyone that just wants some solid bbq.

Fantastic divey Japanese BBQ joint with a lot of Korean dishes as well. Great service and high quality meat. Every J-bbq place slices their meat differently and I really like the thickness of the pieces. A bit smokey but the ambiance is casual and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Super delicious, perfect portions, nice service. If you haven't tried this place then you are definitely missing out. Everything was bomb. I would recommend the beef intestines. Maybe stay away from the sirloin because it's a less fatty meat but still flavorful. We order 5 type of meat and the mixed vegetable for two. It was just magical.

?? JAPANExcerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles:It does not exactly seem like much, from the parking lot or even after you walk inside. There may be a cloud of smoke in the air from grilling meats and faulty fans, but trust your gut and grab a booth. If you arrive too late, some items like their delicious kimchi and the renowned ox tongue will probably be sold out, the first tip that your meal is going to be great.
