Orange County Private Chefs Caterers •

“What a great find! Chef John recently catered our 80-person wedding - providing appetizers, main courses (buffet style w/ a carving station), and our dessert (a cake / croquembouche combo). Chef John is a seasoned pro and made choosing our menu a breeze. Everything was absolutely delicious, and our guests gave us tons of compliments on the overall experience. Our dessert was the ultimate show stopper - a combination of a traditional American wedding cake and a French pièce montée (croquembouche). We're so fortunate to have found Chef John and had the opportunity to work with him to make this day special. The price was also outstanding given what a traditional catering company would charge, whereas our food was far more elevated and tasted anything like a wedding buffet. Thank you, OC Private Chefs!!!“

“Such a great spot with the best sandwiches I have ever had, quite literally. Not to mention the staff and owner, Moe, are incredibly kind and make your experience that much better. Every time I walk in, I am welcomed with so much smiles and good energy all around. The French bread is incredible and words so well with the Cabo turkey. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed.“

““The food is so good! Where did you get it?”That’s what you want to hear when you host an event and it’s what I heard all night long and for days after.I have been a fan and patron of Taste for a long time, but it had been a good few years since I’d used them for an event because I just haven’t hosted big events since pre-pandemic.I was a little nervous about how things might have changed over the years, but I’m happy to report that they were just as good as they were and maybe better!I placed my order over the phone and picked up on the day of the event. Everything was packaged neatly and securely with everything I needed for serving including tongs, serving spoons, plates, napkins and utensils. I probably ordered too much, but my guests were happy to grab baggies to take food home! So, the food. So fresh and so delicious! I did an Italian buffet by choosing two salads, two pastas and two chicken dishes. The dishes were flavorful, held up well over the course of the event and complemented each other well.Salads: Caesar and spinach/Strawberry FetaPastas: Angel Hair Margarite and creamy pesto penneProtein: chicken Marsala and chicken piccataFor appetizers I ordered a veggie tray and some puff pastry bites.I spent about $20/pp and there was plenty of food. (A great deal in my mind for the quality and variety especially given what others are quoting.)Thank you for helping make our event a huge success!“

“We did Door dash for pick up. I personally didn't care for the spicy sauce on the spicy green beans so if I order them again I'd get just the green beans, BUT that's a personal preference. The turkey pot pie was good especially because it was dairy free and I don't usually get to have dairy free pot pie. My family was impressed with the mashed potatoes. If you order a Bite Box it is a single side and a main. The Single Box requires three sides, which is a lot even too much food for lunch or a light dinner. (We were ordering online on DoorDash for the first time so we were confused about how to order just one side and one main but we eventually figured it out.) It was a good healthy lunch and I appreciated that they do dairy free food quickly. It was fast.Vegetarian options: You can specify vegetarian or veganDietary restrictions: Dairy free and Vegan options“

HEAT Culinary, Laguna Niguel Caterers •

“Stop reading reviews, start booking your class!TL;DR – Chef Nikki and team are amazing, book your class, bring some wine, enjoy your night of food, fun, and friends. I know me and my family will be back soon!If you’d like to read more, read on…We, a group of 7, booked the Italian Street Foods class to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday. In her “retirement” my mom has picked up cooking as a hobby, so we thought it would be a fun way to spend an evening and we’d walk away with a little learning and a few recipes to make down the line. We walked away with much more.Food:We were blessed, due to some last minute very stressful circumstances, to have Chef Nikki as our instructor for the evening. We could not be happier with the outcome. Her approach to the menu/recipes for the evening was something like “I don’t follow recipes, even my own are wrong sometimes, they are a guide, not a prescription. Taste all your food along the way, add what you think it needs.” If that isn’t a philosophy you jive with, sign up for a baking course where more precision is required. We made 3 courses of food, arancini, panzerotti, and olive ascolana. Starting with the olives, we were encouraged to taste all the ingredients before, during, and after the cook. That meant eating olives, taking shots of olive oil, snacking on spoonfuls of the filling, and more. The panzerotti and arancini were the same. Try the mozzarella, the basil, the prosciutto. Taste the rice while still cooking, see what it needs. That really opens your eyes to get away from what’s on the page infront of you, and let your senses help make your decisions.Chef Nikki was also very attentive to us all as we cooked. Helping us with even the simplest techniques like basic knife skills and how to cut an onion. For someone like my wife, who never cooks, this helped her to feel perfectly comfortable in the kitchen. At the end of the cook, after we had all sat down and had our fill of fried delicacies and wines, we had a simple demo of the Porchetta. This means I have homework, and I’m looking forward to it.Fun:The class is what you make it. If you’re looking for a pen and paper education, with prescriptions and formulas, maybe this isn’t for you. But if you embrace the kitchen, embrace the people around you, and follow Chef Nikki’s lead, you’re in for a wonderful night.Banter was witty, jokes a plenty, laughs were too many to count. Everyone, or at least I hope everyone, had an amazing evening, even if the food wasn’t all coming out perfectly. Which can be stressful for some.Oh, and Nikki encourages cooking with wine, and I will echo that. A kitchen full of stiffs would be boring as hell. If you need a little encouragement to have a good time, you should do so.Friends:Chef Nikki has big best friend energy. When we arrived we were greeted with warm hugs and genuine smiles. We spoke as if we had been friends for years, even though we’ve only emailed back and forth about the class. The vibe was off the charts. The other “students” for the day quickly adopted the celebratory atmosphere and we cooked like a big family. They happened to have some Italian roots, so it all came a little easier to them than it did to us. The family meal at the end of the session must have gone for an hour of sharing stories, and wine, and more stories.Truly remarkable how food brings people together. Really too bad that we didn’t exchange numbers with our new found friends. Maybe we can catch them at another class in the future.“

“This place is absolutely great! Good price freshly cooked food...I have to admit i accidentally reviewed this one somehow mixing it up with another place... (That was very disappointing I should add)These people were very friendly, and very helpful as it was our first time, we didn't really know much, they were patient and explained well.We will definitely go back often and highly recommend it!“
