We went to the NYE buffet gala at The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe, and the food was terrific, especially the caviar and oysters, which were plentiful and delicious. Overall, a great night and beautiful setting. Drinks were a bit underwhelming for the price, and a couple of items listed (like the pasta bar and raclette) weren't in the buffet, but it was still a fun way to ring in the New Year.
Picturesque property. It must be awesome for skiing in winter, but we stayed in summer. There are activities like hiking, mountain biking, rafting - all at an additional cost other than the family pool and on-site gym. The resort purchased lakefront property and built a modern facility. It is very pleasant but comes at a substantial price tag - something like 300/couple for the day plus food/drink; renting their power boat was 750 for two hours. Would recommend Tahoe Sailing Charters...
We had a lovely stay the Ritz Carlton Tahoe. It's all you would expect. Room well appointed and while the service was slow one day in the main restaurant, the food was delicious and worth the wait. But let me tell you a story. We were there to attend a wedding. I had brought some expensive and special jewelry to wear and locked it in the in-room safe. It wasn't until our plane touched down back at home I realized what I had done. I almost had a heart attack when I realized...
