We bought the ube sampler pack and ube latte milk tea since it was our first time at Cafe 86. The owner was very kind and gave us an ube bread pudding on the house. My daughter love the ube truffles so much we returned two days later to buy more. I really enjoyed the ube cheesecake but everything we tried was delicious.
This was my first visitbto Cafe 86. A'neze took my order and was one of thee most pleasant humans I've ever met. He answered all of my questions and made me a delicious Ube tea. I also bought a Ube poptart for later. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich too. However, A'neze noticed that the cheese was spoiled and told me he couldn't make it for me. If you are looking for authentic halo-halo, this is not it. If you’re looking for an interpretation, then this is a very good one. The upside down part is just the ube part. I believe they use a mix of ube and taro though as it has a particular floral taste to it that you get from taro— also not from other ingredients. Their halo halo is tasty and not too sweet, and their ube truffle is amazing. They also offer other treats like ube pop tart, turon pop tart, and ube bread pudding. The calamansi juice is a must-try, especially during hot weather months, and their sea salt coffee is a hit among coffee lovers. The cafe staff provides wonderful service, answering all questions and serving drinks quickly. Overall, Cafe 86 is a great place to have a treat after shopping or to satisfy your ube cravings.
