I don't get the low average review score. I'm not a student, but I've eaten here several times during meetings and conferences. The food has always been top-notch. The service is amazing. And the dining room is immaculately clean and well-appointed. I've met the head chef who is the top of the game.
The food is decent, but the fact that they force us to pay for the food and then don't let us use our own money whenever we want is ridiculous. We can only use one swipe per time slot, we can't take our leftovers with us... it's an eating disorder waiting to happen.
As someone who has to eat there on a daily basis it's okay but would I go out of my way to eat there if I didn't have to, no. Somehow they made it even worse. Can't have anything nice at Cal Maritime. Only 2 hours for lunch hours and it takes like an hour and a half to get anything sometimes. Absolutely ridiculous. Also they have online ordering now but only for some stuff and it's on an app so if you want something that's on the app but don't have...
