Good food but bad service!
Great food and a great variety for both adults and kids! My children love coming here, which is pretty rare, so that’s saying something. 😄
The only reason I’m not giving it a perfect review is the cost. As a single parent with two kids, our meal usually comes out to a little over $60 before tip, so it can be hard to come as often as we’d like. Lalo's fast food is a locally-owned Mexican chain in Ventura with two locations. The staff are super friendly and always make customers feel welcomed, which is a rare quality. The menu offers a variety of traditional Mexican food with good flavor and fresh ingredients. Portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable, only a dollar or two more than other places, but well worth it for the size of the plates. The Alpastor Nachos and Carne Asada taco salad are highly recommended, and the seafood dishes, like the mocajete and mixed cocktail, are cooked deliciously and served promptly. Customers order and pay at the counter, then the food is delivered to the table by very attentive waiters. With lots of seating and nice Mexican decor, it provides a family-friendly atmosphere, making it great for a big family dinner. The chips and salsa are perfect, and they even sell alcohol at this location. Lalo's continues to offer super authentic fresh food for an affordable price for all of Ventura.
