“Tonight my wife and I were craving good Chinese Food and we didn't know where to go so we decided to check out Lucky's Chinese kitchen here in Vista as we've never been there before.

My first impression when we walked in was, This place is dead must not be a lot of people that like it and it was going to be just like any ordinary Chinese steam table kind of food, tasteless, plain and old. however we proceeded to order a three entree plate, beef & broccoli, Kung Pao chicken and spicy shrimp with half chow mein and half rice. They were out of chow mein and the young lady said they're cooking a fresh batch and it will be out soon.

The young lady behind the counter proceeded to make our entree plates and when she was finished the chow mein came out, she loaded the chow mein on our plates and we sat down to eat.

To our surprise the food was very tasty, I was amazed. It even tasted better than Panda Express and I looked at my wife and said this was a great choice. As we continue to eat more people started coming in and we knew that this place had a pretty good following. I looked over to the steam table and they we're just bringing in a new batch of chow mein, that's how fast the batch went and how popular chow mein is. Everything on that steam table look fresh as all the vegetables were crunchy and had great flavor.

I told my wife, this is my go-to Chinese Restaurant place as the food was excellent, the price was very reasonable and the quantity of food was perfect.

“Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to grab some take-out for dinner. This location is tucked away in an industrial park so on the weekend there is plenty of parking.

This is truly a no-frills location which seems to do nothing but takeout since there is just a couple seats inside to eat-in and no bathrooms from what I could see. It gets the job done since when I was in there for 10 minutes waiting on my food I saw multiple customers and delivery drivers arrive to get their food. Nobody sat down to eat. Perhaps during the weekdays people will stay longer to eat.

My order consisted of delta catfish and shrimp (both fried), baby-back ribs and fried okra. The catfish was perfect, cooked just enough for a nice crunch but very juicy and flavorful inside. Shrimp were large and full of flavor as well. Ribs were smokey and meaty. Okra hit the spot and was a crowd favorite at home. Overall I'd come back again very soon and will probably try the fried chicken along with the catfish again since it was so good.“
