The service was excellent and attentive, but not overly so. The food was so fresh and delicious tasting. The portions were huge. I made 3 meals out of my entree because we made the mistake of ordering the delicious and filling fried artichoke hearts appetizer. Oh yes, and the fresh bread. The desserts looked delicious, but we absolutely had no room for anything else. The wine was value prices for the large pours. This is where you’ll find the locals. The kind of place that serves steak, pasta, seafood, and one heck of a chicken fried steak! The Firm’s cousins in Texas would be impressed. Owned by a local family, Cali G features fresh off the farm produce and an abundance of delicious salads. These people know their way around a head of lettuce. Love the wedge especially. California grill has to be one of my more favorite restaurants in Watsonville. Been there a number of times and each time the food is delicious. Prices are reasonable. Plan on leftovers. The servers are warm and friendly. And they always have someone circling ready to top off the water glasses. Highly recommend California grill.
