This is not the place it was 10 years ago. The food was okay I guess. The service was so bad that I didn’t bother ordering drinks, which is what I went in for in the first place. I went to the bar area first. Bartender was by himself but there was only one other couple at the bar and two more tables outside of the bar area and he never got to me. 15 minutes to get a menu, and waited another 10 minutes for him to come back (again, there’s almost no one here) before I finally decided to leave the bar and go get a booth on the other side of the restaurant so that I can get actual service. The waitress was nice, but also was not the best at checking in. The manager wanted to compensate with a free drink but honestly I was so annoyed I just wanted to eat my food and leave.

This used to be a really fun place to bring your friends out for decent food and drinks and to party. It seems like things have slowed down here and the quality of their service needs a revamp.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but this experience was concerning enough that I feel other customers should be aware.

About two weeks ago, on a Friday evening, I visited El Pescador in West Covina. As soon as we were seated, I noticed utensils on the table wrapped in a napkin that appeared dirty and already used. At first, I hoped it was just an oversight.

However, when our waitress brought our plates, I noticed the napkins placed with the clean plates also appeared to have been previously used. They were wrinkled, had visible stains, and did not look fresh or sanitary. What made the situation worse was that the waitress picked up the utensils that had been sitting on the table when we arrived, handled them using the dirty napkin, and then placed them onto my plate.

After she walked away, I inspected the napkins more closely and became even more concerned. The wrinkles and stains made it appear that these napkins had already been used by someone else.

At that point, I was so disgusted that I completely lost my appetite and barely touched the food I had ordered. What should have been an enjoyable meal turned into a waste of money because I no longer felt comfortable eating there.

I tried reaching out to the restaurant multiple times through Instagram to report what happened and to ask for an explanation, but after two weeks I have not received any response or acknowledgment. The lack of communication has been just as disappointing as the experience itself.

I understand that mistakes can happen, but cleanliness and food safety should be taken seriously. I would have appreciated a response, an explanation, or even a simple acknowledgment of my concerns. Unfortunately, being completely ignored has left me with a very negative impression.

If the restaurant believes there is an explanation for what I experienced, I would genuinely like to hear it. Ignoring customer concerns only makes the situation look worse.

My two boys and and I had EI Pescador last night, approximately 7:00PM, and have had nothing else since. Since then we've felt absolutely nauseous and my two sons eventually vomited this morning around 5:00AM.

My boys had the kids pizza with fries and a free ice cream that came with the kids order, I ordered the taquitos appetizer. The only food items all three of us shared were the chips and salsa, the french fries that came with the pizza, and the ice cream.

Have never liked El Pescador, only went to watch the Mundial, but now getting possible food poisoning has been the icing on top. Will not be eating here any time soon, hopefully ever again. Also, total was like $50 for a kids meal and appetizer, which genuinely weren't good. I took the majority of our food home as left-overs.

If I could give tgis 0 I wpuld, do not come here unless you want stale food and bad service.
We ordered a fish that was over cooked, the tortillas were hard as a nail, the wet burrito a disaster! Avoid at all cost.

They're not honoring their happy hour menu during the world cup. No disclaimer anywhere.

It's a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. We went on a Saturday evening and it was super busy. They had the world cup game on every TV. I ordered the Camarones a la diabla (spicy shrimp) it was soooo delicious and truly spicy. My husband ordered shrimp enchiladas but with mole, delicious as well and made to order as they don't have that on the menu.

We had a office workshop meeting at this restaurant. The patio area was big and decorated in a beautiful garden like setting. The food was very good and service was top notch. Learned a lot from the workshop and very satisfied with my meal.

It started off strong with the fresh guacamole with carne asada. Thereafter, it was downhill from there. Service was extremely slow and the food was just okay. Maybe we will try it again.
