No reason to post reviews based on assumptions. The review was updated after I corrected a misspelled word. The original review was after texting and calling in two prior occasions. It said it's open on Yelp & Google but no one answered the call or txt. Also we came all the way from Riverside CA back in January on a Saturday lunch time and it was closed. Hence the review. But the food is great and it's good to know you are open. We will be back soon for sure 😃.
It was my 1st time trying Sri Lankan food.

Pearl Island Restaurant is an incredible place to enjoy a delicious meal, now located in Van Nuys. The menu features a variety of regional specialties from around the world, with dishes artfully prepared and beautifully presented. The flavors are bold and vibrant, made with a range of spices that tantalize the taste buds.
The restaurant is known for its authentic Sri Lankan food, with large portions and reasonable pricing. The owners and staff are described as very nice, and the service as superb and high class. Taki, a staff member, is known for her bubbly personality and excellent customer service.
The restaurant recently reopened in a new location after a hiatus, and while the menu currently offers a daily limited selection of dishes, customers are eagerly awaiting the revival of the legendary and delicious weekly Friday night Sri Lankan Hopper Buffet. The aesthetic of the new location is described as homey and comfortable.
