So disappointing to see the staff, service, and food decline so rapidly at Le Pain. I have been a regular customer for many years and since the original manager and long-term staff have left, they are being replaced by inexperienced and uncaring associates that spend more time talking among themselves while we the customers wait to place our to-go orders. I order a vanilla latte and there is no vanilla syrup included. I order the almond croissants and often they are stale. I can go on but won't. All I can suggest is that you train your new staff and offer fresh pastries like you used to. I will not be coming back for a while and hope that if I do return in the future, it will be the Le Pain that I looked forward to visiting.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was lovely. The food was very good. Lattes in a bowl are always a good sign. Service was great. An unexpectedly nice spot.

Official complaint against Manager at store#222
2728 Townsgate Rd Thousand Oaks CA 91361
Ordered my usual toasted Croissant with Ham and Gruyere. The person who prepared it thought that meant a croissant with ham and some sort of spread. How? It’s their menu item, no alterations requested.
As this was purchased thru GrubHub for delivery I went thru the proper channels to inform them an item is incorrectly prepared. However, since this is not the first time this establishment has prepared items incorrectly, I called to speak to a Manager. The so-called manager, Christopher, (if that really is his name) got on the line. I first confirmed that he was the Manager, to which he confirmed he was. I informed him what the issue was and he went to look for the order. Came back on the line he couldn’t find it and I repeated the order name and details. He found it and I asked how can your menu item be prepared differently than how it is supposed to be made. He said it was made wrong and that he will speak to the preparer and unfortunately since this was ordered from GrubHub he couldn’t do anything.
I said the person preparing it is incompetent and then he said, I’m trying to help and I would like you to not use the degrading, incompetent, and hung up on me! Really, your staff incorrectly prepared my dish, thus, incompetent. Definition of incompetent is: not having or showing the necessary skills to do something successfully. They did not prepare my order successfully and thus incompetent. So, he thought it was a good idea to hang up on me?
That doesn’t help, so Mr. So-called, Manager, you Sir, are an incompetent Manager.
Great service!
I like this place a lot especially when it's warm enough to sit outside. The food is always nice and we'll presented. However everytime I've been here there has been a delay in getting served or something has been forgotten from our order.
Good food. Great service. Very, very noisy.

Great food! Just breakfast and lunch, French style pastries, unique egg dishes, and sandwiches. A bit pricy though.
The decor was ok. Is was reminiscent of a French store in some ways, but really just solid wooden tables and chairs. The biggest problem was it was quite noisy.
Vegetarian options: There seemed to be one vegetarian option. It was labeled as such, but was a sandwhich.
Parking: It's in a shopping center and we arrived early on a Sunday...so plenty of parking was found.
Wheelchair accessibility: It was standard accessible to a wheelchair.

It's alright. It doesn't taste like French pastries. But it's not bad. Needs more butter in them. It needs to be more flaky. Tastes like store brands. Matcha was ok. Price is high for the quality of foods. Definitely not French, sorry to say.
