Short rib pasta and octopus are excellent
Such an incredible evening with the most scrumptious food and ambiance. You can’t beat a sunset over the lake in Westlake Village!! The service was phenomenal and we could not get enough of the burrata & peaches!! We rate this place 10/10! We will be coming back! Thank you for an incredible evening! 🤍

Yār on the Lake in Westlake Village is a beautifully remodeled restaurant that offers a welcoming lakefront ambiance. The stunning sunset views over the lake set the perfect scene for an enjoyable evening. The restaurant excels in providing exceptional service, with attentive and friendly staff who make guests feel valued. The bartender creates wonderful drinks such as strawberry lemonades, and the staff, including hosts and servers, are professional, kind, and efficient, ensuring a memorable experience.
The menu features a modern Persian fusion with a variety of healthy and flavorful options. Highlights include the burrata & peaches, which combine farmer’s market peaches with arugula pistou and Italian burrata, served alongside housemade breads like crispy lavash and rosemary olive focaccia. The seafood pasta with saffron broth, containing little neck, calamari, prawns, and mussels, is notable for its amazing saffron broth. For meat lovers, the filet mignon is cooked perfectly and served with potatoes prepared in three ways, including saffron whipped feta. The eggplant appetizer and lamb meatballs are also highly recommended.
While some experienced a wait for their meals, the kitchen’s small prep space occasionally caused delays, but the overall quality of food and service remained high. The restaurant’s recent renovation and the owner's personal involvement reflect pride and passion, evident in the elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. The chef’s attention to flavor, presentation, and detail makes Yar on the Lake one of the best dining spots in the area. Whether for drinks, appetizers, or a full dinner, Yar on the Lake offers a top-notch experience that visitors are eager to revisit.
