With all the positive reviews I had to try this place but unfortunately it was not very good at all. The rolls fell apart and where over doused with sweet an cheap sauces. The complimentary toro we got at the end was really good so makes me think to order just sashimi if we ever come again. Very disappointed.

I literally love this place, I grew up eating here. The server remembers me as the one who ate like 16pcs of salmon sushi, and drank a whole bottle of Yogurt. She's so nice! This place is the most friendliest place I ever went to. Food takes couple minutes, not a big wait. The place is pretty busy , but you'll probably wait for around 10minutes. Overall, this place is great!

Quality has dropped drastically since my last visit, new owner maybe not sure. Dissapointment, thos was one of my favorite places for sushi.

We just found our new go-to sushi spot!My husband and I are both big sushi lovers, but we are very particular and with very different preferences. This place had everything you could want. There is a nice variety, but the menu isn’t overwhelming. The service is efficient without being hurried. The chefs are all friendly. We noticed a nice mix of regulars and newcomers. The atmosphere is relaxed and not too noisy. The only problem I noticed is parking is a bit scarce. Really not a big deal though.

Checking out the Vons and Target stores today with the grand daughter and the lovely missus. There is a Japanese restaurant called Gesshin. Parking could be a challenge on that side of the shopping center. We found the entrance and I recognize and remember the name Gesshin that we went to years ago. It is still in the same spot. We were early and asked to have a seat at the waiting area. We were then seated at a booth by what I saw was the only server working, although there is a master sushi chef at the sushi bar, and one more chef in the kitchen. Her name was Jenny and she took our orders for sushi as well as the Gesshin Lunch Special; Teri Chicken that came with Tempura and Miso soup and grand daughter chose salmon Teri rather than Tempura. The Lunch Special is an easy choice. The grand daughter and the missus liked the Lunch special and they raved about the salmon sushi and salmon Carpaccio and the spicy Tuna Roll and another specialty that of the Baked Scallop Roll. Me, I am happy with the Lunch special and California Rolls. The service was kind of 'try my best' as our server was preoccupied with other patrons as well as those coming in to order takeout. Maybe another person would be helpful. Gesshin restaurant was a good call for lunch and we had plenty of food for some leftovers to take home. We agreed that we would come back to Gesshin again.

I'm a long time customer (25+ yrs) and always pleased with the sushi and service. This last time our waitress was preoccupied with others and left us waiting on her. She also was drinking the sushi chefs leftover beer. Wa? Also the main sushi chef (not Hatchi) was downright rude when I asked about the blue fin tuna.Unfortunately, my longtime streak here is done.

This sushi restaurant has been tucked away in this shopping center for a generation. This is no accident. Top quality sushi and sashimi and have never had bad service here. Prices are a bit higher, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant has the best sushi in LA and almost in the whole country. I am a serious foodie and I’ve never tasted something here that I didn’t like. The sushi & sashimi m is made very fresh and the whole atmosphere is wonderful here. The sushi chefs smile and joke with you and it was a wonderful experience coming here. The only problem is once you eat here you won’t be able to eat at most sushi places anymore. This place is top notch

Food and service were both excellent. Combination plates give a lot of food. Sushi was really fresh and very delicious. Miso soup was piping hot which always makes me happy. Highly recommend checking it out. We stumbled on it by accident. Looked closed from the outside.

I used to love this cozy little Japanese restaurant, but gradually I have been getting disappointed. Recently in the late stage of this COVID -19 Pandemics, the inflation all over most places, the prices of eating out go up is very understandable, but the quality of the food is still essential. Unfortunately I found out the prices of most orders here go up 10-15 % which were acceptable, but the quality and quantity of their sashimi went downhill. I do hope they can make improvements on the quality of their food and earn my loyalty and trust back!

Consistently good. Hachi leads a good team. Can get pretty crowded but open tables last night. Support your local sushi bar! ? ?
