Beware of clandestine service charges

A group of friends and I had dinner here back in November 2023 and I have to say the food here was absolutely spectacular. I've been to several other restaurants in both Aspen and Vail and when it comes down to quality, freshness, and taste, Meat & Cheese is at the top of the list. Some of my favorites on the menu were the steak board, the espresso martinis, and the Vietnamese coffee crème brûlée.

TRASH! I cant even fathom that this place exists, and doesnt get shut down 🤦‍♂️. Between 8 of us, we tried chicken nuggets, chicken board, pastrami sandwich, kids ramen. None of the food had any sort of taste…bland fried nuggets, plain pasta stuck in watered down soy sauce for “ramen”, dry rotisserie chicken with plain potatoes. Sandwich was barely palatable but sauce was extremely spicy. Whoever is cooking there should not be allowed in the kitchen as they have no taste. Service is barely there. Prices are ludicrous. Avoid this place, do not recommend at all!!!

Amazing food! So good we ate here twice on our short trip. The second time we were confronted by a particularly unpleasant red-haired manager. Would have been 5/5 otherwise!

Spectacular service and love the atmosphere. For the food, the chicken board is yum but the banh mi sandwich is a hard no – for $26 the meat was not crispy, it was difficult to chew and very dry. It was disappointing as I've tried amazing banh mi sandwiches in NYC for half the price. To end on a more positive note, the chips it came with were good.

We always love our meals and experiences at Meat & Cheese. The kale salad is a favorite! And the service is A++.
