The atmosphere is inviting and we had good service. Prices are too high. The food was ok. Presentation of it was nice but truly for what you get the price margin made me feel taken advantage of. I realize it's promoted as an upscale restaurant but truly it's just over priced Mexican food.
Always excellent food and service! Love the frybread, rellenos, cordodero. Jalamango Margarita! The live music was great as well. Can only recommend it
We enjoyed Delicious Latin-inspired food made with high quality and obvious expertise . The appetizers (queso fundido and seafood cocktail) nicely complemented the outstanding lobster tail tacos we had for entree. Service was great, and the background live music was thoroughly enjoyable. We will be back for sure.
Not much worth talking about, realistically the price at happy hour and the lack of competing Mexican food in Blackhawk are probably the major reasons this place still exists considering how far the quality has fallen. The manager in here may as well wear a clown costume, he is a joke.
The Carne Asada, Street Corn, and Tacos were great. Our server Dave was exceptional. Great service. This is the best restaurant in the casino.
Absolutely delicious!! Dining issues at the casino we were at so went across the street and it was the best decision ever. Very friendly service!!!
Wednesday happy hour from open to close is the best!! Half off Margs, apps, soup and salads. With appetizers the tacos ( either blue corn or flour) are enough to share. TJ at the bar is an outstanding sever - staff very customer focused!
We love eating at BM. Ww never miss an opportunity when we are In Blackhawk. The food is delicious and Dave is a phenomenal waiter. The one caveat is that they generally have large parties so please be aware of that.
Great food! Tastes even better than the pictures look. Carne Asada meat was some of the most tender and flavorful I have ever had!!! The best part of our dining experience was the Waiter, Dave. He was absolutely wonderful, helpful, and quick. He made the meal even better!!! Hopefully Bistro MARIPOSA knows what a great employee they have!!! Give that man a raise!!! Manager was nice also.
Not bad! Small improvement on wait staff to help guest feel noticed as you walk in! Food awesome!

Hands down the best culinary decision we've made on this whole trip!! The food is out of this world good. We will drive from Denver just to have dinner here.
I didn't get our servers name, he was an older man with a distinguish voice. Although we were one of his last tables of the evening he was very patient and professional. He kept our water glasses full. We had our minds made up on what we wanted, he did say he would walk us through and make sure we got a delicious meal.
The frybread esquite is a real triumph of the human spirit. Carne asada tacos.. đ€€ the meat was perfect. The guacamole đ€© with chicharron. They really know what they're doing back there. When we win big, we're coming back for the Gaucho Steak đ
This is hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had! Currently, on Wednesdayâs they do half off some appetizers and drinks!!! Everything is delish including the amazing Sangria they just added to their cocktails~ hope you take the beautiful drive up (or down) the canyon - whether you gamble or not⊠wether you do a day trip or stay the night- in my opinion⊠it is soo worth the trip! Also both the ambiance and the customer service is amazing!!!
What an amazing experience at Monarch Casino in Blackhawk, CO! The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooftop pool is absolutely stunningâdefinitely one of the highlights of our stay. The staff went above and beyond, and I have to give a special shoutout to Simon for his exceptional service. An added bonus was the outdoor firepits and hot tub, which offered incredible views of the mountainsâperfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the blackout curtains made for the best nightâs sleep of our whole trip. It was so nice to be able to sleep in and enjoy a later checkout time of noon. Weâll definitely be back! Highly recommend!
Monarch is the same as all the others in Black Hawk. Extremely poor customer service, APP doesnât work all of the time and COMPs go missing, reward play is not always recorded correctly, management staff at the casino and players club hang up on you and are arrogant, hosts do not answer calls or call back promptly, mailed marketing never arrives, etc. As a high level player I stopped playing the other casinos in Black Hawk due to poor service and wanted to make Monarch my home casino instead of going to Vegas. I have stopped all play at Monarch as a result. Save yourself the time and hassle and do not get caught up in the ânewnessâ of this place.
Paid $250 for a one night stay in advance because I wanted to make sure we had a reservation for the night. Get there and they wanted $100 incidental fee which I was ok with since we would never smoke in the room or mess anything up in it. Sink in the bathroom was clogged. Got the king size room and it had one coffee cup??? Seriously? Gambled and enjoyed our night. Went to check out waited 15 minutes for someone to even come to the counter and then they charged me $34 for resort fees??? I asked what that was for and the lady told us it was for parking and pool fees. Told her we never even stepped foot near the pool and she said it was a normal fee with a smirk on her face. Felt taken advantage of. So through and through we paid $284 for one night. Rip off. Never going to stay at that hotel again. You can go and play all day and leave and not pay for parking⊠Not happy at all with that.
