This place is crazy and the management is unprofessional.. I was a owners club member 6 years and was banned from the casino for complaining about there senior host supervisor.. They will allow you gamble intoxicated untill you loose your money then kick you out..Any owners members or elite players beware. Anyone new coming to visit colo stay clear of this casino.. Try the monarch casino or Lady luck casino. The host will smile act like a friend to get your money and then won't even contact you after that.. Monarch has live bands on weekends and a good sports book

Ooof. I have been a frequent gambler since this hotel and casino was built. I get comp rooms constantly. I have seen a few ups and downs with the staff and dealers. Attitudes and teams change. I get it. We have seen TONS of amazing dealers and teams along the way. This weekend was awful with the craps dealers. What in the world??!! I'm disgusted with the attitude of 80% of the team. I played with all the dealers over multiple tables and multiple dealers on 4/5/24 and 4/6/24. Craps tables are the funnest part of a casino. The current team is all about preaching and acting like tough guys. Cool, have fun sharing your empty tip buckets. Nobody is enjoying the craps dealer teams. Ugh. Such a disappointment. I saw Tim (huge dude) even yelling at customers. Embarrassing.

Summary: not great, but not the staff's fault. More below... The good: clean room, nice view from high floors, nice dining options, and a good central location among the other casinos in the area. The bad: the entire place is clearly understaffed. The folks we met were friendly and doing their best. But 90% of the problems clearly are management's fault. Among them: long lines at the front desk, no one answers calls to the desk, long waits at empty restaurants, difficulty getting a drink in the casino unless you are literally sitting at the bar gambling, and no working internet / wifi in the hotel. Also: I've never seen such a mess when it comes to parking garages. Literally 99% of cars parked outside of the lines, huge trucks in compact spots, clueless drivers and pedestrians walking without paying attention, etc. Be super careful in the parking garage. Since it's the most expensive of the hotels in town, I'd recommend skipping it. Side note: unless you love to gamble, I'd recommend skipping the entire Black Hawk / Central City region. Colorado has SO MANY nicer places.

Ameristar is a super fun pace to play! Fair minimums, free drinks for players, and now 20 free (!!) EV chargers! There's no longer a reason to go anywhere else!!

Your gonna have more fun at any of the other dozens of casinos. I always forget and go back to it to remember that the drink girls walk around like once an hour and you can never find one when u need one. Even on holidays

The worst experience and customer service in Blackhawk, CO. Overpriced, dirty, and unfriendly service, from the door greeter and up to the Assistant Manager Michelle. Drove up on a snowy Sunday 02/04/2024 under the impression that we had a comp night but to our bitter surprise customer service or more so the lack thereof customer care, ended up having to book a Romance Package that cost us $300. That was after booking three reservation. The first and third reservations, were supposed to be a comp for two days each and although these were canceled due to unforeseen and unreasonable booking fees and costs payment, the hotel still processed it as comps and deducted those comp stays from our account even though we did not stay. The second booking we were forced to book a Romance Package that was overly priced for a Monday, and which included $200 food promo at the disappointing Fireside Kitchen. Our first getaway together as a couple turned to be a hell of a stressful logistical back and forth with the front desk and assistant manager. Never ever going to Ameristar again. Especially after the terrible and humiliating experience this weekend. customers do not matter to Ameristar.

Several years ago this was our go to casino hotel in Blackhawk. We visited the casino today. What a disappointing experience. Nothing has really been updated or remodeled in the casino. It looks tired, worn and old. The machines are mostly the old style. Carpets are worn and dingy. They added a sports book but that is about all they have improved upon. I'm glad we didn't stay in the hotel. They sure haven't tried to stay up with their competitors. It's sad because they used to be the pinnacle of luxury in Blackhawk.

Never been treated so rudely by a bartender or any service worker for that matter. I spent hours playing and was only asked if I wanted a drink once. When I approached the downstairs bar for a drink, I asked for two (one for me and one for my husband). When I asked for two, the bartender raised his voice and shouted "No" at me and then loudly proclaimed that I "must have never been to a casino before because I would know better than to ask that" and then barely served me one. Obviously rules are rules but the way it was handled was absurd. Starbucks worker was also short and clearly unhappy. Disappointed because I have really like Ameristar until now.. better off staying somewhere you're treated nicely.

I have never been the type of person to write a review, yet alone a bad review, but my entire interaction with Ameristar has been so dreadful that I felt it needed to be shared with others. I just turned 21 on November 26th & was going to be staying here since its supposed to be one of the nicer hotels in blackhawck. I had checked into my hotel room around 5:30/6pm & went straight to the casino so I could see what was so grand about it before I went to my room. Around 8:30pm I had went up to the room & received a phone call about a death in the family, so I did what any sane person does. I called down to the front desk & asked if i could receive a refund since we barley got to walk into the room before we had to leave. The lady I had spoke to on the phone said it wouldn't be an issue & that I might get charged with a resort fee which she'd elaborate on once I got to the front desk. When arriving to the front desk I was greeted by two females, the one i spoke to on the phone & one who claimed she was management. The both said it wouldn't be an issue to get my money refunded & the most I would get charged is $17 for the resort fee. Come the 27th & the full ammount was posted as pending. I waited a couple days to see if it would dissappear or if a refund would be posted but nothing ever came until the 30th when the charge had posted all the way. I called my bank to see if there was a refund in process or what was going on & they couldn't find anything. So I called Ameristar around 10:30am & asked to speak with a manager, that's when I met Vincent, I'll spare you the fine details but during the duration of our call I was consistently spoke over, ignored, & belittled until he told me he needed to verify with the night manager about my refund & that he'd call me around 2pm. So I waited for a call until about 3:30pm when I decided to just call back. I could get ahold of just about anyone in the entire establishment but the moment I tried to speak to a manager it was voicemail after voicemail. This continued until yesterday when i spoke to Vincent again, he acted in the same exact manner, denied me his managers phone number when i asked for it, & even hung up on me. At this point I felt like i was owed some sort of compensation because I've yet to hear anything about my refund yet alone have I been treated with any decency. Eventually I got ahold of the casino manager & he told me he'd make sure my refund is done asap & offered me a comped hotel room. At first I was all about it but then I realized I'd be allowing their horrible behavior to be swept under the rug at my own literal expense since I'd have to pay for everything else other than the room. So I denied & asked to speak with the next manager up to see if there was anything else they'd offer me. That's when I got ahold of the director of hotel operations. At first i thought this lady was going to be the solution to my problem & actually care about what's going on & try to make amends for it but the entire time we talked she would talk over me & speak with a rude tone & said all she could do was offer me a free room. So I asked for her higher up since I was already getting upset with her. At this point I'm asking to speak to the general manager just to find someone that actually cares & will do something to make it right. Now whether she actually spoke to him or not I'm not sure, but she came back to the phone saying he didn't have time to speak & that he said he wouldn't offer me anything different. So I asked for the corporate number & she gave me a number that is out of service. I called her back to try to get a different number & have yet to hear anything back. This has been the worst service I've ever received, (& I've been to some horrible places) I don't think I'll ever be able to convince myself to come back to this place nor would I ever recommend it to ANY

I have been staying at this hotel for over a year now a total of 15 times and after several incidents i can write this review with full confidence. Please BE AWARE THE HOUSEKEEPERS AT THIS HOTEL (AMERISTAR CASINO BLACKHAWK CO) STEAL. I have no idea where they are hiring these people from but Do not LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND YOU WILL NEVER SEE it AGAIN. Never get your room serviced without cleaning it up first and putting away allll of your belongings socks, clothes and accessories included put every single thing away! . The maids will steal your stuff and they are never held accountable when it's brought to the managers attention... I have been blatantly stolen from 4 times now. aside from that The suites are awesome! i would rate The spa a 6/10 and the food is good too...

Sherrye was fantastic at check-in. The room was great. Would like to have a higher temperature for the shower

Shout out to Jessica at the front desk - you are the pinnacle of great customer service and the other front desk staff, bartenders and restaurant staff should take a lesson from you. Our experience was subpar aside from our check in process. On the second day I discovered my car got hit and damaged in the parking garage and staff wouldn't even take the time of day to check the cameras to send evidence to my insurance.

Stayed for our anniversary last Friday. Room was clean. Very nice. all of the furniture was nicked, beat up, and looked like it was purchased from the Goodwill. Bathroom was clean and tiled.Tried to contact both the front desk and housekeeping to send up a couple of extra pillows, but no one would answer their extensions from our room after multiple tries.Timberline grill was good for service, however took over an hour to get our dinner (crab legs) which was obviously just thawed (very cold & fishy smelling) even though the portion was generous.Slots were very tight. Went to other casinos to gamble where we found looser slots and gaming.Overall, this was our first time staying at the Ameristar. Have stayed at other comparable casinos (Horseshoe) for much less $$$). Better to eat at Gilpin for a hot dinner for less than $300. No one at the Ameristar seemed to care, nor could you find anyone to express your issue to. First impressions are paramount Ameristar!

Absolute worst check in experience. Not customer service oriented at all. Would not recommend

This was my second visit to Ameristar and both were great visits. I love the big bar and it's a great place to watch a game or meet and talk to people. The bar tender took care of our group and was on top of his game even though it was busy. It was Thursday and the first football game of the year so a lot of people watching as well as those that were just playing the slots. There were plenty of restaurants but I will say that I walked by the Fireside at 9:30 and asked if we could still have dinner [since they closed at 10PM] but she said "probably not". Well damn. This place is huge and has plenty of parking in the back.
