The General Taos chicken sauce was bland. It was Just fried lumps of chicken. A vegetable egg roll was missing from my order too! It was college kid version of cheap Chinese food. The ingredients looked cheap. There is great General Taos chicken in Boulder, just now from this here.

This place is what's up. Was calling so many places in Boulder for just a cheap, easy, delicious Chinese takeout on my way home from Eldora mountain and this was absolutely the spot. Got a hold of two others, one didn't have General Tso's chicken, a fairly standard dish, and treated me like I'm an idiot and didn't care about my order, the other didn't even know what General Tso's was. Golden Sun was not only the best customer service but also this food is so good. I drove it home 20 minutes to Westminster and it's still great, will be coming back, 10/10.

Pretty rough, everything here is always funky tasting or overdone. Just go to Hao Way nearby, way better.

The order was overpriced, the host was very rude and I have been puking up my guts for the last 6 hours after I ate golden sun the night before. Please save yourself and do not go here. I have never written a review in my life but this place is the worst I had

$13 for Mongolia onions (was supposed to have chicken in it). It's delicious but you get more protein from a head of lettuce.

I ordered orange chicken for delivery and it was the least flavorful orange chicken I have experienced among half a dozen other restaurants in the boulder area. Any sauce used was as thin as soy, so the chicken was largely absent of sauce. The expectation based on the GrubHub menu image versus the food in reality was a stark contrast, and was quite disappointing. This was my first time, so I have to assume it was a one-off; hoping for better next time,

We started the evening with high hopes for the golden sun. We ordered take-out, it was ready in under 15 minutes, and we drove back home looking forward to enjoying a nice meal. Little did we know, the rest of the experience would be anything but enjoyable ?. We ordered the egg soup ?, wonton soup ?? , curry shrimp ? , sesame chicken ? , and fried rice ? . Just so you are all aware, the fried rice is literally JUST rice that was fried a little. No vegetables ??. No egg ?. Just plain rice ?. The egg soup looked like it would ✨glow ✨in the dark and was the consistency of syrup. We moved onto the wonton soup hoping for a redemption, but it tasted like drinking the aftermath of a dookie in the bath tub ?? . The curry shrimp didn’t taste at all like curry ? and only had any flavor after half a bottle of hot sauce was added?. The sesame chicken tasted like bread that was left out in the rain ?️? . I was lucky enough to find a small and suspicious piece of meat every ten bites ??. At least they had fortune cookies ? at the host stand that we could try to wash it down with. Even the cheap prices ? don’t justify the horrific quality of food ?. Needless to say, the sun is not very golden ?, in fact it’s puke green ?

I’ve dined at Golden Sun a few times and had some takeout on 12/21/23. Somehow every time I go the food is better than it was before, and this time it was absolutely outstanding! For a standard Chinese style restaurant I don’t think it gets better. Yes it’s a bit oily and salty like you would expect from Chinese food but not too much and all was packed with flavor and very freshly cooked. We had combination chicken lo mein and chicken with broccoli. So delicious and exactly what you want when you order Chinese food. The service was great too. Really easy to order from their website and they were so nice and grateful when we picked up the food. If you’re craving Chinese food in Boulder you gotta go here!

I am calling the police they took my number when I ordered and passed ot around the kitchen and let the crew call and harass me!! THIS IS ILEGAL!!! Then when asked for a full refund They tried to extort me deleting my first review. So I'm putting it back up again after I got my refund.

I have been coming here for YEARS, and this is by far my favorite Chinese food in Boulder. The owner, Tina, is the sweetest lady ever, and she always makes sure that my order is perfect! She has actually, over the years, shown me a few 'off-menu' items that you can only order if you know what the dish actually is. (I would mention them but I'm not sure if she's comfortable letting the 'secret' out yet haha!)Weirdly enough, I don't know why, but my favorite thing here is actually their simple steamed pork dumplings. I usually make a little soy/vinegar/garlic sauce to go with it, and man, let me tell you... best dumplings I've had ANYWHERE. They're stuffed to the brim to near bursting, and the flavor is out of this world. I dunno how to describe it. It's very mild, savory, and delicious. Also her Sweet & Sour Spicy Eggplant. That is my go-to, and I'm not even a vegetarian! That's how delicious it is! To die for.All in all, please check this place out! They have really good family and lunch specials, too.

The food was very good, got sesame chicken and chicken fried rice. the sesame chicken was a little dry but amazing flavor. When i entered the restaurant to pickup an order it was empty and dark, but i got helped right away by a nice man. Definitely worth it for the price, recommend for finals!

This hit the spot for me during exam week, it’s exactly what I needed. It was comforting and reminds me of when I was a kid and we’d get American Chinese food for dinner. The owners were really nice and welcoming. The price point was great and perfect for the amount of food you get. I do wish the orange chicken was a little more orangy and sweeter but it was still good! The shrimp fried rice was good and they give you the big shrimps too. The Chinese donuts were delicious as well.
