Food is good but they didn’t put on the basketball games, we asked kindly and they were rude. They made up a lame exuse on why we couldn’t watch it
We just had a rough time all around. Came when a football game was on and they decided to show excited woman's rock climbing. A local stated that the owners were so cheap that they didn't want 'squatters' so decided to not have NFL. Too bad the staff were not ready to respond in a polite manner instead of the bartender telling us, "You know where the door is." Amy the Manager was just as rude. Like many many other patrons that evening, we just asked if the game would be on.
Great food and great prices. Normally ski resort restaurants rip you off. The prices were reasonable, good food, and even when they were packed I didn't have to wait long to get seated. Very convenient if you are staying at Mt. Crested Butte and don't want to drive. Friendly and fast service.
Awesome place to hang or get food and drinks. Prices are what you'd expect for being in a base area but the staff is friendly and the food is good. Sonetimes the fries are overcooked so if you like your fries without a crunch, just ask your sever. Overall, very cool place with a great throwback ski vibe.
As you can tell by the owner's replies to these reviews, they are not welcoming to tourists/visitors.A shame, considering their proximity to the base of the mountain and the larger hotels.Larger groups from out of town are assumed to be villains when they step in, I would recommend going elsewhere.
Thought it would have been more of a sports bar but they were not even playing NFL playoffs. People left and right were pulling it up on their phone because they said they would not be turning it on. Food was OK. No double doors so every time someone walked in it got real cold inside.
our waitress, blonde with braids, told us she needed to close our check when we were half way through eating because they were closing, the sign outside said open til 9 and it was 8:15, good food, bad service
It was open but just barely. Food that was left was good and it was convenient to the hotel. Rootbeer floats got it the 4th star.
My friend and I sat at the bar today and watched the cooks use their bare hands to serve everyone's fries. Now you may say that their hands might be clean, but we watched the front staff handle cash money, write orders on tickets, grab the ticket and give it to the cook who grabbed the same dirty ticket, stuck it to their queue and immediately grab fries to give to customers to eat. Disgusting, we couldn't even eat our food after that.I can't believe that during a time where we are well more aware of reducing germ spread that the people in back would use their bare hands to touch our food.
Great food & service! We had the avalanche burger and the Fish and Chips. Both were excellent. The waitress was friendly and efficient. Menu includes several salads, burger options Philly cheesesteak, fish & chips, ice cream floats, and bar. Would highly recommend.

We used to really love this place when we lived here and was excited to see it was open on a recent visit. It wasn’t the same Avy. Short staffed, heavily jaded towards non-locals and I’m not entirely sure why I tipped while picking up my own food and throwing away my own trash. Not quite what I remember and thankfully the town has quite a few places that want your business. To the owner who is replying to all the front rangers to leave.. Kar.ma.
Absolutely awesome food and service. The hacky sack was delicious and the cream cheese/avocado spread. Yum!! My son had ribs and he said they were the best.
Mediocre food and a surprisingly aggressive, even hostile attitude to those not wearing masks. I mean - of course you insist people wear masks, but the *way* they do it is definitely not ski-area mellow.
Don’t Bother - there are far better places in town! As patrons for more than 30 years, the quality and value of Avalanche has hit a new low point! Long gone are breakfast and the nightly food specials. Now they have even jacked up the prices for appetizers to the point that they are absolutely ridiculous. (Nachos without any topping for $16 - really????) We used to stop here on a daily basis for drinks, appetizers, and dinner - NEVER AGAIN!
Very nice. Food was good and so was our waitress.
