We had Ajax for dinner and also breakfast (via room service) in the morning. Our meal was fantastic, lots of flavor packed into just a few dishes. The duck is especially impressed (both for dinner and breakfast) along with the Miso Blondie. Our server (Chris, sp?) took great care of us while also managing a very large group. If you like duck or dry aged food, I highly recommend Ajax.

We waited for about twenty minutes before we were offered water and drinks. We gave our complete order then and it was almost another fifty minutes before we got our food. Several other parties that came in after us were served before us. If the staff had acknowledged and/or apologized for the delay, I probably would not have said anything. But when we asked about our food, it was as though we had unreasonable expectations.

Ajax Downtown Denver is a little-known gem in the LoDo neighborhood. Its primary audience is guests of the Limelight Hotel, and Ajax doesn't extensively advertise in the surrounding neighborhood. Which is too bad, as it's become the go-to fave of my wife and me. That's because it's so homelike, unpretentious, and friendly.
