Husband and wife owners, wife does the sweets and husband does the bread. I get a huge crusty round loaf that bigger than my head for $12. Nice thick crust. You can noisily tap your fingernail on and it toasts up delightfully. I can’t speak for the sweets because I haven’t tried them. But the bread is delicious. If it was sourdough, it would be perfect. I am from San Francisco originally and I’m always on the hunt for a delicious crusty, chewy bread.

I've only purchased the shortbread cookies. They are amazing, and the shelf life is pretty long. Every flavor combination is mouth watering. I make sure to stop by every time I'm in Denver.

Expensive, was hoping to buy some lavender scones. All they had was the blueberry/lavender shortbread..

We are from Colorado Springs and stayed in Littleton over the weekend for the Classic Car Show. I was looking for a good bread store on the web and came across the Denver Bread Company. We made the 30 min drive and were not disappointed. Old world charm of the bakeries I remember from my childhood. Staff were super friendly and explained all the different breads they had. We ended up buying 2 loaves along with some choc chip cookies. Because I had done my research ahead of time. I knew they only accepted cash or check so we came prepared. Yes it's a pain because I generally only carry credit cards but it's worth the inconvenience. Great store, great taste and great staff along with VERY reasonable prices. Will definitely b back when we r in the area!

We just moved to Denver, and seeing an article on the Internet about the best bread in Denver, I decided to visit. But after reading the reviews, I was deeply disappointed. Seems like the company went down the dumps over the years because the reviews are worse and worse as time goes by. So no, thank you.

We bought a loaf of bread brought it home and it was stale. Not sure if it was day old but for $12 this is ridiculous. Also they only take cash for bread.

Not sure what all the rave reviews are about but for me this bakery was a miss. Having come from Tucson and enjoying Barrio Baking bread for 10 years the Denver Bread Co. is a miss. Soft bread no crust and it is reminiscent of nothing more than the so called bread you get in the bakery department of mega marts.

Came in on a Saturday morning looking for sourdough bread and was not disappointed. The lady who helped me was friendly and offered free samples of cookies, which were of course amazing. So good I had to buy some to take home. My experience was good, except for the fact that I had to pay for the bread in cash but could pay for the cookies with a card. I wish they would make clear that cash is required for bread purchases.

I was bummed when I visited their website a few months ago and saw that Greg/Kristy were "semi retiring" and scaling back on baking. I mean it's great for them of course (!!) but a loss for their long time customers. Every time my mom visits she wants to go there for the cinnamon bread they only make on the weekends. This started at least ten years ago when I lived in the Highlands neighborhood. I was sooo excited to see semi-retirement didn't agree with them and they're back to baking Wed - Sun!!!! So sorry "semi retirement" didn't work out, but we are certainly glad you're back!! . We live in Park Hill now and made a special trip today to pick up 2 boule's, sourdough bread and a dozen cookies. Yummmm! My mom will be so happy to hear you're back as well. . Thank you so much!!

Tried to buy a loaf of bread. Rustic bread I understand would be pricey, but $10 is ridiculous for something I can bake myself for less than $1 and enough time. Worse off was the bizarre rule that, unless I heard it wrong, that they do not take credit card for bread purchases??? You're going to charge that much and then not even willing to cover the $.10-.20 visa charge for bread purchases? That's absolutely ludicrous.

Know what would have been cool? Something on their website saying they were closed for a couple of weeks starting on September 17. That's today. Myself and another woman I ran into just now, both drove from Westminster to come here. Thanks, at least there's a cardboard sign on the door. Shame on me for not seeing that from a distance.

I love The Denver Bread Company and have been buying bread there for years. They usually have samples, so I buy whatever awesome bread I happen to fall in love with on any given day. I stopped by today and the baker was on vacation, so no bread today, however I’m not too sad about this as I was FINALLY able to pick up a bag of their bake at home pizza dough and the super friendly staff member who helped me out offered my toddler a strawberry basil cookie sample…total lifesaver!! They also have the most amazingly mouthwatering cookies of all times….

I went out of my way to drive here because I’m new to this city and I wanted to support eat delicious bread and support a local business but apparently they close 3 hours earlier than what is posted on google maps. I guess I wouldn’t have gotten bread anyway because “denver bread company” doesn’t bake bread anymore lol. Back to Whole Foods I guess.
