Stout Street Social Reviews
This place looked great and they were referred to us by the nearby hotel we were staying at so we gave them a try. We ordered Prime Rib and a Turkey Club. They were both just satisfactory, the service was poor and they added a 4% Service Charge to our tab which states on the receipt, "is used to fund improvement to the compensation packages of our non tipped employees" Seriously, they don't pay their non wait staff minimum wage! Stout Street Social offers a great atmosphere with top-notch service, although the service can sometimes be slow or inattentive, especially during busy times. The crispy Brussels and braised elk meatballs are amazing appetizers, and recent reviews highlight the Brussels sprouts as the best ever, crispy, tangy, and well-seasoned. The barbacoa egg rolls on special were incredible. The elk bolognese remains a spectacular choice that benefits from a little extra cheese, while the prime rib sliders and fish and chips are also noted as delicious options. The salmon with a quinoa salad and the salmon burger with mango slaw are prepared with chunks of fresh salmon and are highly recommended. The space can be a bit loud for some, making conversations difficult, but it is conveniently located near the theater and convention center, which is a plus. Lunch options like the hamburger and gyro sandwich are fresh and tasty, served quickly even when busy. While the clam chowder might be too salty for some, the lamb burger and prime rib sandwich are highlights. The mac and cheese side dish is also recommended for a fulfilling meal. The gluten-free Chips & Dip Trio is a hit, especially the queso. The menu is unique and the food is well prepared for moderate prices. Despite occasional service delays, the food quality remains a strong reason to return.
